Too funny Sparks.

And the update is in...
I need one more mechwarrior, can take one more vehicle with crew (and up to 1 SQUAD of infantry)
The squad of infantry should be no more than 10 men strong, and the vehicle crew no more than 2.
Other than that, we are ready to go, as soon as Rogue Spear reports in with his bios for his shootist pilot and his LAM pilot working with ... Victory... REALLY ONI?! REALLY?

Anywho... I also need a last name for that lad...

Lets get it done folks, I want to get this one rolling.

In keeping with the silly names of our group, I give my character's first name. The second name is my own family name, as a tribute to my Grandpa. He was a pilot in the RAF, played for Celtic, ran his own firm, I believe had a Law degree and worked in computing, and even made us customized to size golf clubs cut down from his old ones when we were kids. The eclectic nature of our company seemed to suit, I thought.

First Name: Althalus
Last Name: Hepburn
Call sign: 'Pilot'

History:
In 2840, as production on Hepburn Specialist Vehicles' new LAMs entered the prototyping stage, both the labs and factory itself were destroyed in catastrophic fires. The official investigation resulted in the conclusion that the neighboring facilities had been the victims of gas leaks, the truth was that the research being conducted had attracted the attention of Comstar, and Operation Holy Shroud.
Grief stricken, the widow of the company's lead designer and company CEO simply piles all the various doodles, drawings, data files and the like scattered around her home into crates and packs them into the attic. ROM is none the wiser.
Bankrupt, the owning Hepburn family were forced out of the vehicles industry, producing minor mechanical knick-knacks for small profits and were forced to change the company name. Luckily for the Hepburns, this kept them off ROM's radar. In 2962, when the family expanded Hepburn Specialist Industries to begin producing civilian vehicles, ROM didn't even notice. In 2986, HSI opened a second factory, producing custom designs, bringing the family's ethos of industrial production full circle. With rare exceptions, the extended family produces only engineers and businessmen, all employed at the family business. For the second factory, Victory's father, one of the company and family's lead members, decides to expand the company back into military technology, acquiring the rights to produce first the Defender Medium Strike Fighter, then the Angel Light Fighter and Meteor Heavy Strike Fighter. Selling these cheaply to planetary militias, private armies, and mercenary units, they mass produce the fighters for a healthy profit.
In a daring move and another name change, Rising Star Industries took out a loan and opened a third factory, this time after making deals with Hellespont Industrial and Vandenburg Mechanized Industries to produce the Urbanmech and Shadow Hawk mechs respectively on their behalf. With the funding from the larger companies, the first Urbies and Shadow Hawks roll off the production lines at the RSI Mech Division facility on Caph. In only a few years enough profit has been made to pay off the initial loan.
In 3005, the arrival of the Wolf's Dragoons and the sudden interest in their technological capabilities, including even a few LAM mechs, the family decided to go through old family records and storage to see if they have anything from the old days they can turn to further advantage. Finding the box of old schematics and doodles that survived ROM's attack in 2840, they immediately begin moving. Keeping everything within the sciencey members of the family to avoid industrial espionage, they begin work on designing and refining the mechs in the doodles. They eventually reconcile several flaws/problems in the design when they realize the designs are for more than one variant. They manage to finalize plans for several of these, and choose the two they believe to be the strongest designs. Quietly, they move equipment to the family mansion, and form a private production facility that is capable of producing prototypes in secret. They eventually build the Stingray and Terror LAMs, production finishing early in 3025. To hide the company's involvement until trials are completed and they can announce mass production rather than risk a PR debacle with failed models, Victory and his cousin Althalus are chosen from the family test pilots to attempt to master the designs when production begins, being sent to study LAMs at the NAIS. Having completed their training, they are given the prototypes and shipped out to acquire work as mercenaries as a promotional stunt.

Personal History:
Althalus was literally born on a prototype fighter assembly line in 2993, his mother's waters breaking as she inspected custom modelled Defender prototypes ordered by a low tier merc corp. Regailed with this story for most of his childhood, Althalus grew up obsessed with fighter planes, even ignoring the mechs that had begun walking the factory floor in the same month he did. Possessed of a swift and intelligent mind, Althalus stole a new made Angel from the factory when he was fourteen...for about fifteen minutes and 6 inches of distance before he realized he had no fuel. Inspection of his room revealed that underneath the engineering manuals that scattered his room lay dozens of bootlegged piloting manuals. His father, declaring if he was so determined to fly then fly would, promptly grounded him for nearly a full year. Allowed to leave his room only for meals, using the toilet, family requirements, school, and his daily flight lessons, upon completing the one year 'Junior Flier' course his father had paid for at the top of the small class, his grounding was promptly lifted - so he stole a Defender. Carefully fueling the craft, smiling at workers and generally kidding on he didn't care, he loaded the craft with missiles and happily flew to the limits of his fuel tanks, practising acquiring missile locks on the two fighters sent to find him and get him back.
The intervening 17 years has seen Althalus go through a lot of change. Giving in, his family sent him off to a flying school and allowed him to join the local militia as a reservist. Eventually petitioning to NAIS for aerospace fighter training, he was accepted on a scholarship and graduated top of his class. Returning to his home on Caph, he quickly became a test pilot for the family company, where he picked up his unusual and plain callsign. When the family began working on LAMs, he was quietly brought up to speed on the new designs. As a test pilot, his insight into what would be required for a fighter was valuable, but useless when it came to a LAM as he had no mech experience. After his cousin Victory was brought into the project, providing useful insights but without the technical background of a test pilot, it was decided to send them to study LAMs. Staging an elaborate bar scene between the two cousins on the relative merits of conventional aircraft, aerospace fighters and mechs, the two drunkenly decided to prove each other wrong the only way that made 'sense', announcing to one and all that they would henceforth become LAMs pilots. Officially resigning from his test pilot job with Rising Star Industries, Althalus began his retraining as a LAMs pilot and eventually had to concede he did enjoy 'Mech mode' more than he had expected.
An expert pilot and average mechwarrior, Althalus has never seen combat - and does not relish the thought.

awe... I thought the lemmings would be funny... you have to admit that the vehicles are awesome, I am going to size up the hover support vehicle and just use that then. probably double the weight and add a couple more weapons. right now I view it as able to hold a max of 5. so double the size of the infantry compartment, and add a few more weapons.

Actually, ruling on this round, as I missed this post till just now as I was going over each one in prep for the update on the OP.
Heat is 6, Damage is 2 to every location facing the blast (lots of little bbs) Range of 2/4/6/8. What this means on a personnel level is Penetration 9*10d6 damage to a person out to 60/120/180/240 meters. It produces slightly less heat and has slightly less range as it is one custom built, and two, has to have a little less powder behind it to get the right balance for the "Shotgun Blast Effect)

Can I assume that will pretty much kill any infantry I shoot it at?

Dropped a PM looking for that last 'Mech slot. Lot's of TL;DR in there, but I can repost it all here if you'd like. As well as flesh it out more than the basics in that PM.

EDIT: Posting it anyway and adding some more fluff ;)

Character Concept:
Name - Katja Theros
Callsign - Ghost
Ride - Phoenix Hawk PXH-1D

Background - Born in 2989 on Kestrel in the Crucius March of the FedSuns, Katja went straight for the military as she grew up. Both parents having been in the AFFS, the progression was natural; although with her mother being a tanker and her father an aerojock her choice of 'Mech combat sought to bridge the gap somewhat. Hard work and luck saw her into and through NAIS. Academics proved her greatest challenge, spending most of her time in the sims, at ranges, running obstacle courses or working other military skills. Scraping into a MechWarrior slot, Katja's parents called in a few favors from old friends and helped land her in the cockpit of her PXH-1D. The years between that first ride and the end of the Third Succession War saw her fighting across the Draconis March, including a particularly harrowing experience near the end of the war on Deshler.

Despite having gone through special operations training, Katja only ever did two stints with such a unit. The first mission was a slolid success, just enough excitment to get the adrenaline flowing and keep her thirsty for more. However, circumstances conspired to keep her from going back into that field for an extended period of time, as standard line units proved to be in greater demand than special operations. Regular duty and extended combat rotations slowly turned the extrovert in on herself, becoming more disillusioned with the politics of inter-House warfare. The high-point of her career in the AFFS came on her last standard tour of duty. While performing a deep recon of a mountain chain, Katja hit upon a lostech cache from the old Star League. Artillery and other combat had destroyed enough of the main entrance's concealment for the cache to become visible. While the majority of the data and equipment was non-military or beyond the understanding of anyone outside scientists, there were a few choice pieces of gear.

Such a discovery scored her attention from higher, along with another chance at a special operations assignment. Figuring it would be a chance to get away from the grind of normal duty, Katja accepted. The operation was a mess from the start. Dropped across the border, Katja's contact networks were rooted out just as she had established herself. Cutoff from her allies, although luckily unkown to the enemy, she managed to complete complete her mission and exfil back to FedSuns space. That mission, and some of the things she had to do to complete it, left a deep mark on Katja, sickening her entirely of politics and ideology. Having a deep distrust of what she viewed as the true side of government, and having been ordered to cross too many lines in the name of duty, she started to look for a way out.

With the Third Succession War grinding to a halt Katja found her opportunity to get out while the getting was good. Managing to pull her 'Mech out with her, Katja grabbed space on the first transport off Mallory's World, not caring what the destination was. As it happened, said transport was making a run to Galatia III. With no real skills outside the military, and estranged from her parents due to a perceived betrayal of her duty to the FedSuns, merc work is the only option she can see. Still deeply troubled from her last op, she has grown quiet and solitary, trying to reconcile herself and start fresh.

Appearance: (forgot to plug this in in my initial edit derrrrrrrp)
Height - 5'6"
Weight - 140lbs
Eyes - Blue/green flecked with grey
Hair - Dark red (dyed) usually cut to jaw length and parted to frame her face

Skills/Abilities - I used the CBTRPG book to gen these, ran it until she came out as 36 :D Also, believe it or not I managed to do this all legitimately, didn't have to tweak anything once I finished up o.O

Spoiler tag to keep it from being huge-wall-o-text

Spoiler

Edit: Phoenix Hawk PXH-1D Specs for those without the TRO or generally unfamiliar

Yup. The houses are anything but simple and straightforward. I'm not naive enough to say that Davions are amazing and perfect, sure we like to white-knight and pretend it, but there's a reason Hanse is called The Fox. The only difference between CapCon's poisining/assassination/subterfuge and Davion's is that the Capellans are more open about it.

Edit: Let's drop this now before we get into some silly faction argument though. Plenty of time for that once we start RPing our characters.

Which is why I only made the single point. tis the wrong place for a faction argument. I was only trying to point out the irony in you saying that. Plus, my character isn't a part of any faction anyway.

Alright, the Lemmings Infantry company take dos. also, I could not pull off a 2 pilot tank, though I am not sure why i need 4 people in it when it really only needs a gunner and a driver. 2 pilot tanks have to weigh below 20 tons. I am using a 50 ton hovercraft.

Lemming's Provisional Remnants (cause I liked this idea)
Unit CO: Brevet Captain Mark Lemming.
Description: Formerly an entire infantry company, The Lemmings were nearly wiped out during a raid on a Kuritan factory. they are down to a single squad of infantry and its accompanying troop transport. The transport allows rapid re-positioning of the squad as needed, and is fully capable of harassing and even occasionally destroying mechs (seriously, this thing has thicker armor than almost any assault mech. and is as fast as a locust.) It's single large laser is the Lordlings Fast Infantry Transport's (LFIT) primary weapon. with it's nose mounted position, the transport makes repeated high speed passes on enemies, all the while peppering them with laserfire. The LRM pack gives it some long range support and harassment capabilities, as well as allowing it to fire into territory that hovercrafts can't enter, such as forests. The single machinegun at the rear of the tank is normally infantry controlled, as it allows one of the infantry members to suppress enemy infantry while the remainder of the squad exits the vehicle. It is supplied by only one half ton of ammunition. It can also be locked into position to allow the gunner to control it without anyone in the infantry compartment.

The lemmings consist of 10 infantry, led by Gunnery Sergeant, Larry Lemming. while Mark Lemming is the Commander of the Units transport. Due to the units greatly reduced size, every single member of the infantry squad is specialized.
Squad members (note that primarily they will keep to themselves due to the fact I really don't feel like having 16 way conversations with myself. Janus and Ser Pounce-A-Lot + all the lemmings)
Larry Lemming (commander - Imperiator Sub-machine gun)
Barry Lemming (radio-man - Federated Long Rifle)
Mary Lemming (heavy weapons specialist - Man-pack PPC)
Carrie Lemming (Jump trooper- long range Assault Carbine)
Sherry Lemming( Combat Engineer- BFS - Elephant Gun)
Gary Lemming(BAMF - Minolta 9000 Advanced Sniper System (might need a different sniper rifle, but I am hoping that since most Sniper Rifles are similar, GAD III will let this one slide, It is constructed with Endo-Steel))(couldn't resist, the rifle is used by the death commandos)
Darry Lemming(Medic- Imperial Sub machine gun)
Fairy Lemming (why did it have to come to this... stupid needing 9 similar sounding names) (comic relief) (Heavy Gyrojet Gun)
Wary Lemming (general infantry man - Mauser 960 Assault System)
Frank Lemming ( Scout - M&G Flechette Rifle)
Tank Crew
Commander - Mark Lemming (standard 9mm side arm)
Gunner - Lark Lemming (standard 9mm side arm)
Driver - Dark Lemming (standard 9mm side arm)
Radio man - Zekram Papadopoulas (standard 9mm side arm)
(have fun :()

*Shrug* What do we care? We're mech and aerospace jocks. We're renowned for not giving two ***** about you piddly infantry :)
Also, on the 'having' to have the same last name...it seems highly unlikely that you would have 300 infantry and multiple vehicles all with the same name, so I think you're allowed to downgrade that from 'need' to 'want'

Actually, there are cases of large enough extended families to make an entire infantry unit from them, especially if you allow both male and female members to join. If the previous generations all had mostly sons, you could end up with a lot of people with the same last name, my dads side of the family numbers at around 2000 people with the same last name. most of them don't show up at the reunion's anymore, but there are at least 300 smiths that show up every year. course multiple generations, but you get the point. As to the vehicles, I shamelessly stole the idea of they used vehicles from their families company from Oni. because I really didn't feel like making up multiple fictitious companies from multiple vehicles. As for the names, the first names had to be similar, cause i wanted to do the why the hell is this one guy's name different.
