I wanted to say thank you to the BlackThornes!
Yesterday the 312th and the Blackthrones had the luck to drop together on frozen city on the north western side. We approached the ridge together as we sent out a scout (fast dragon) to check the caves. The OPFOR(opposing force) had taken up defensive positions far away from the ridge to bring their LRMs and ballistics to great effect. As none of them had gone through the cave we were able to spot several with the dragon. I asked your skilled and honorable lance to flank left, wide around the dropship and asked them to let me know when the enemy team turned to face them. On your lance commanders signal the 312th executed the 2nd prong of the pincer into the OPFOR's side and back. Victory was swift and the spoils plenty.
Your Dragoons performed their duties with excellence and honor and I have informed my Commanding General of your skill. We will keep this in mind as we move closer to community warfare. Everyone needs allies.

Looks like it was a good mix, I have no idea what they were doing either... Five of our veteran pilots and three recruits should have given you a much better match, I will flog them later. Sometimes things just fall apart, looks like a good example of that here. Great job, however.

Drop night this Thursday at 8 eastern, all are welcome

Welcome! This will be a very informal drop tournament and the rules will be a bit different than most we have run. Since MWO does not enforce tonnage requirements on 8 man pairings, we will in an honor based system for the purposes of this tournament. You may play with less tonnage, but you are not permitted to play with more than the following. (AAAAHHML) Lighter combinations are allowed and encouraged, but the configuration listed is the maximum allowed.

How the tournament will work. Teams will enter a drop channel on the Blackthornes Team Speak Server to be paired with another Team. They will be dropped on an Assault map. Since we have no ability to guarantee that the teams will meet each other, but we DO know that they will meet another Premade, the match will count for both teams. A screen shot of the match finish will be emailed to Ailric@Blackthornes.com and reported to me in team speak with the number of enemies killed and the number of mechs lost plus capture status. Your score is the DIFFERENCE between the two plus capture, a capture is worth 3 points. This means that if you kill 7 enemies and lose 2 mechs, but the 8^th mech caps you, you STILL win the match. You receive a score of 5, the other team -5 for the match plus 3 for the capture for a -2. If the team that killed 7 had captured instead, their score would have been 8, and the other team -5.

Both Teams should provide reports, all reports must have a screen shot emailed.

The victor will be determined by the highest average score + ½ the number of matches played in 2 hours. This is to keep someone from playing one match, getting a great score and then just waiting to win.

I went out and bought a headphone microphone to play with the blackthornes but after checking the teamspeak server several times have found no one else logged on. I'm on the west coast and typically play at night... when are you all on?
