Nope not an MWO Design its most likely from MWT

My God! What are you smoking? Look at the art in the Mechwarrior Tactics site: this have nothing to do with the MWT Japanese toy visual!

Guys, that Highlander picture is the pretty old work of Alex Flyingdebris, it's not MWO art, relax. It may well be just a mech related art illustration in the magazine.
Though I would definitely like to see Highlander in the game.

Quote from PCGamer's MWO article:

"Piranha plans to make at least one new mech every month, the next one being the Highlander, a 95-ton assault mech (spot it on p. 37)"

Most people will read that article AFTER the flea came out. The next mech is going to be the Highlander.

Also:

"...they intend to add "hero mechs", faction-specific, famous mechs owned by figures in Battletech."

So the Highlander is not a hero mech.

according to 3039 tro the 733 was prduced up until the fourth sucession war, until hollis lost the licesne. StarCorps started too produce refit kits during the mid 3030s. so i think its safe to say we can atleast get 2 varaints of the chassis.

Yep, that's what I meant. Thank you Kodiak. It's not a common design (Assaults aren't produced en-mass, as no 'mech is truly, but the bigger the 'mech the slower the production) but it IS still out there in some number enough to be seen on battlefields on occasion.

I notice a small error on that. The Highlander is 90 tons, not 95. If the article says that, then it's just a typo on PC gamer's part. No big deal really but entertaining to see all the same. :)

<S> See y'all soon, and I'm SO happy to see the Highlander once more :P Makes my frikkin' MONTH!

Heck no man, I love seeing more 'mechs revealed! Just because the highlander wasn't revealed as 'mech #16 doesn't bother me at all. The fact that it's going to be in the game eventually is enough for me. I'll be purchasing the PC gamer JUST for the highlander artwork contained there-in. Not even mentioning the nifty 'mech skin and bobble head code too, plus any other artwork/information to be gleaned.

My Highlander, 'Pale Horse' will be realized in MWO. That fact alone makes me quite happy. Plus getting all the other 'mechs on top of it already revealed and yet to be revealed. Yea. 2012 is a great year ;)

Lets see what the 3039 has to say, quoting directly from the source: TRO 3039, Page 276, HGN-733 Highlander
Primary Factory: Son Hoa (refits only)

Quote

However, the Succession Wars devastated the factory on Son Hoa, leading to the virtual extinction of the design toward the end of the Second Succession War. Hollis Incorporated suggested a licensing proposal to StarCorps involving re-building destroyed chassis almost from scratch while using readily available technologies. StarCorps readily accepted the proposal - and a hefty licensing fee.
Hollis continued to CUSTOM-BUILD the 733 models until the Fourth Succession War, when its license was revoked. With the capture of the Corey production and the discovery of the Helm memory core, StarCorps was able to begin producing 733 REFITS on Son Hoa by the mid 3030s. StarCorps was eventually able to restart full Highlander production on Son Hoa in 3057

Emphasis mine and again in the TRO 3050 Upgrade, page 220, HGN-732 Highlander

Quote

Relatively few found their way to the DCMS in the 3030s, almost all of which had been completely stripped of advanced technologies, but a handful remain in service inside the Ghost regiments....Since the re-opening of StarCorp's factories on Son Hoa in 3057, brand-new Highlanders have also been pouring into the ranks of Lyran Battlemech units...Comstar began to upgrade its 'Mech forces i nthe late 3050s, the Highlander was one of the many designs that saw a minor facelift.

Refits and Cutsom jobs of the 733 model with no more than 5 of the 732 models in the DCMS. Thats not only rare but exceedingly rare, and there are 2 sources right there that say the Highlander does not go into full production, as in meaningful numbers of the design, until 3057.
