Currently Black Widow Company is at Company strength. We're not spam-recruiting like other zerg units. Those are officially-filled slots, not counting all the people who signed up and then faded away immediately afterward. Having said all that, I am tempted to open up a second Company. I will not discuss unit structure and organisation in this thread, due to OPSEC reasons (all you guys talking about what lances you're fielding, congrats... now we know how to beat you). Suffice it to say, we have leadership positions that are open, if you think you're a capable warrior.

I mentioned capable warrior because we aren't just giving them away to the first person who types a flowery post on the internet about how awesome they are. Our positions are available via a combat-oriented Trial of Position. You get to fight our best recruits and our best veterans, if you're brave enough. Only the strong survive, and only the best will lead Black Widows into battle.

This is what I like about BWC, the phrase "Fit to lead" comes to mind. In most outfits promotion is often a popularity contest putting unfit people into a leadership position with ensuing hilarity. You get people there that aren't really interested in performing their duties adequately, they are there for the prestige and shiny forum sig...and everyone suffers.

So, come and earn your position the tried and true way - by proving yourself.

Yes, this is definitely a case of "Volunteer if you think you can compete" and then we actually require you to compete. BWC has been around for a long time, and in that time we've never done anything like this. Perhaps it's an experiment, perhaps it's just trying something new. If it works, it works. If not, well we still get to see who our best warriors are.

So, for all of you non-BWC members reading this thread: You want to lead? Are you the best pilot? Come get some. If you've got what it takes.

That's part of what separates BWC from other units. Every member of BWC abhors poor leadership, and won't hesitate to remove a bad leader from his/her position.
