My first experience in group play in MWO was through my brother's small gaming group that made use of a Mumble server (this was long before VOIP was introduced in the game). I could tell right away the difference that voice-based communication made in improving coordination, but such a small group of people who only play together in the most casual manner possible wasn't enough for me. I wanted a unit that could offer frequent and regular group play and help me improve my gameplay in MWO, and after I checked out a handful of units, I was blown away by BWC's level of organization and never looked back.

After a long time in a german multiplayer clan it begun to break away, everyone was playing what they want and nothing was done in a team. This time i started playing MWO and other Games and asked around who likes to play. No one wanted to join, so i started searching for a group where the team comes first. I love teamplay, i dont like playing alone. I found everything i want at BWC. A Team, a group, friends and good gaming.

MWO is a great game if you love big stompy robots, but being on your own is not much fun in the long run. I mean, sure, you can get some nice successes when you get lucky. But without a wingman on your left and right side you are just a lone gun caught in a big warzone. You might do good, but that doesn't get you a win...
This game is very much about the numbers. And if your team is bad you will always lose against a better team, no matter how good you personally perform.
Thus I started looking for a team that would back me up when needed, and whom I could back up in a pinch. And I found that with true allies, like BWC, it's just always more fun!!!
You will win a lot more than you lose when working together... and winning is just fun. You didn't jump into a 100,000 kilo warmachine to get shot to pieces, did you?
Nope! You jumped into that cockpit to beat the snot out of other cocky humans who thought they where the one to beat you!
What I was looking for in a team:
First and foremost mature people. I can't stand drama, nor stupid pranks/trash talking, rage quitting, playing the blame game etc. The people I wanted to play with are just old/wise enough to know such toxic things only harm everyone involved. Do unto others as you'd want them to do unto YOU!
Of course they also needed to actually play the game, and at the times that *I* play. A big group helps a lot with that! A TeamSpeak server was a big plus as well. A good website with a planner/forum is also needed, because MWO does not give players many ingame options to coordinate and team up etc. In fact, such user interface things are generally this game's weak point. So a good group must have it's own ways to ensure people are online at the same time and are ready to form up groups and start kicking enemy butts!
Why I chose to join BWC:
I posted my criteria for groups in these forums, and added what I could offer a group in return. I got four replies, and BWC's stood out the most for me. A large group; 300-ish MWO players, but many, MANY more people who enjoyed other games under the same banner.
Their recruiter was nice and sounded mature. The group also offered their own systems for creating and managing team/group play. All the things where there; a private forum, TS3 server, a lot of mature players to befriend, regular playtimes in all regions, a great scheduling tool. Even their own "achievement"-system.
I checked it out and found out that everyone can apply, but joining was not as simple as just clicking "Okay" once. You actually needed to show up a few times and follow some tutorials, provided in realtime by specially trained volunteers via TS. All this weeds out people who cannot/won't commit, or otherwise not fit in the existing group.
In the end I joined because it felt right for me.
First impressions within the first month of starting with BWC:
I made extensive use of all their internal trainings. Stuff like the roles of Recon, Missiler, Agressor and Fire Storm tought me many things about how the game really worked, and how to make use of it's mechanics. Particularily learning how to work those LRMs properly was an eye opening hour!
Next to the trainings -which felt very professional even though it's all voluntary!- there was of course the group play. FINALLY no longer surrounded by random people of various (and often dubious) skill levels the game just became so much more fun. Being able to push enemies together and actually having people at your sides and back who join you and support you makes all the difference in the world! Just the simple act of all moving together instead of seeing your mini map flooded with dots rushing everywhere instead of forming a united front with firing lines etc. is awesome.
So I started winning more matches, surviving way more often than before and getting more cash and XP in to build up my Mech stable.
But we haven't even touched the best thing yet; the people within BWC! They are true comrades, always willing to help you out without expecting anything back. I quickly befriended many of them, and looked forward to playing with them again, night after night.
Of course we have amazing digital systems in place to do things like plan fun stuff, discuss strategy/game changes, schedule trainings (I have followed 19 different trainings so far!) and many more.
But my best impressions where from the teamplay and individual generosity.
For example, an anonymous person gifted me a Mech Mastery Pack in week 2. And that kind of thing is no exception in BWC!!!
Why I have stayed with BWC:
Good first impressions quickly turned into even better things. Friendship with many different people soon developed. Those still tie me closely to BWC. And unlike most MMORPGs where you basically stick around forever because your friends need you for stuff like raids, MWO doesn't have that close knit community going on by default. Probably because of the subpar GUI/communications tools, and because it's not a persistent, shared world. However, I do have these ties. Except outside of the game; on our TeamSpeak server, on our forums, via our many, many volunteer-led group events. All things BWC provides that make me stick around.
Of course successes ingame are nice, and they increase greatly once you have a group going, but it's really the comeradery that keeps me going. I took an officers position for a few months. Basically this means I guarantee I will provide group operations at specific times each week. There was an opening, and I didn't hesistate a second to step up and help my fellows out. That's what BWC inspires in people; generosity, maturity and friendship. Why WOULDN'T I want to stay?

How I've improved at my game after joining BWC:
My Kill/Death nearly doubled so far. My match scores also went up quite significantly. I've mastered several weapons (proper LRM usage comes to mind) and many tactics. Both small, personal tactics, as well as larger tactics (Lance leadership) and macro tactics (meta, full 12 man leadership) opened a whole world of possibilities, chances and personal challenge. I've done a lot of leading since then. Whether an entire two hour operation or just taking charge of a floundering PUG group when dropping solo.
Another special BWC thing is the many inhouse trainings. As said before I've completed 19 different training courses so far, and they all were well worth my time!!!!
The most significant improvement is that it's just way more fun to play with friends!!!
My most memorable moment with BWC:
Probably the most victorious when we had a 48-0 win in Faction Warfare. That's right; we lost zero Mechs the whole time. But the time I got a Mech Mastery Pack from a mystery donor probably ranks as the highest gratitude. Most proud was when I was asked to step up into a leadership position.
The most glad isn't one single moment. Every time we play together and people do good I am quite glad.
So I am very thankfull for BWC to provide us with all that and much more!!!

With my limited experience in online gaming, I didn't really know what I was looking for when I started looking for a team. I had no idea that there was this....infrastructure.... of gaming communities. I found through my research that teams came and went like crazy - here one day - disbanded the next. Some teams were ultra-competitive level player, others were .... terrible... I didn't know there were teams who provided training to their members or helped them develop as a player.
What I really wanted was a stable team who wanted to play MWO and who I knew would always be there. I thought training would always be a good thing to have - and I wanted to learn from better players.

You need a team. That team needs you to be with them as much as you need them to support you.
People that have fun in playing the game and want to put in the effort to do it right. That is The BWC.
Good people. Good Company structure.

I chose BWC as my gaming community because of their longevity and solid reputation. Also, being veteran owned and operated, I knew the type of people who would gravitate towards a team like this: dependable, fun loving, tactically savvy (at least mostly!), motivated and dedicated.

I choose BWC because as a veteran, I liked the idea of gaming with people who share the same ideals of camaraderie, self-sacrifice and what I expected... disciplined play. As it turned out, there was a huge fun factor included and that was not a surprise.
Granted, BWC is not solely for veterans and MANY of the folks who belong are not, but the shared values is what sets it apart.
I made a great decision.

I liked that they were founded by veterans. I wanted to see if we would mesh well, and we did. They showed good organization and communication, and more importantly to my thinking, they showed honor and respect to their opponents on and off the field. The appreciated a good fight whether won or lost and had no trouble congratulating the other team. In the end we're all gamers of various calibers and varied tastes. The BWC exemplifies a quality gaming community across the board.
