Nah...not candy. How about custom nose art or our company colors on our 'mechs in game? That'd be cool! Black and Red 'mechs with the company crest...

What the heck is with the sudden influx of jarheads into my beloved outfit? I can see I need to find some more Rangers. And a token Air Force girl.

Because we travel in flocks, and someone called a focus fire on your sorry butt.

Even your C&S are taking over...using Marine abbreviations for rank instead of Army.

I'm wet behind the ears but I've really enjoyed they guys I've met so far and the organization and teamwork. I've very excited to play this game with this group!

What's awesome about Bravo Whisky Charlie is that I can get excited by our presence without having to be in game.
When I just sit in and listen to what our guys have to say, how they operate, it's pretty dang brilliant. It makes me proud to be a part of them.
In only five or six months I already feel like these guys are going to be home for all the games I can get them to join.

Just don't start peeing hydraulic fluid and coolant on your wingman's legs and chewing up your command couch B)

Working and playing with all the new people joining the company is fun. We learn a lot from each other and make the team stronger.

Very happy with the quality of people joining - nice to know you always have someone good to step up when someone in your lance has to step out.

Has anyone brought up the fact that we have a European/Oceanic unit available? Just for folks in those timezones who would like to part of BWC.

Indeed. We did just set up a function for our distant friends. It won't restrict you from NA players, but it will set you up with players that are still the BWC.

I would like to make very clear that I like that style you bring to the table, but am put off by the rank structure and line of command. I don't want to be in charge of anything but myself ever again. I also am allergic to anyone, anyone at all, barking orders at me. Even in a game, even in a simulated chain of command. Simply put, it freaks me out. That is the main reason I cannot ever be in your group.

When I say that I had a bad experience, I mean that I had a string of VERY bad experiences that came damn close to snuffing out my life. Not to mention destroying my body as a direct consequence of other people's stupidity in my chain of command. The hazing, abuse and random fistfights are no fun at all, either. I am comfortable playing with other vets, but not being told what to do in such an explicit manner. Too many bad memories associated.

Have fun hope to see you in game.

Sorry to hear about your past experiences. Sounds like real life handed you a **** sandwich and forced you to take a bite.

I wish you the best. Thank you for posting in our thread.

Understood. Our rank structure has a way to allow people to stay clear of directing orders and just be a joe in the game, so you wouldn't need to worry about that.

As to your getting barked at, you'd be surprised at how much you will actually be barking orders yourself in-game, regardless of taking care of yourself. "Get out of my way, dumb***" is a common one. .

Seriously though, the amount of orders we really give usually pertain to controlling information on a few sensitive subjects, be a decent human being, and in-game tactical calls. We require a certain commitment on your time, usually about 3-4 hours out of the first 2-3 weeks, and we call out for your schedule now and again so we can build a T&E schedule around what time you and everyone else can attend.

That's less requirements than your relatives in New Hampshire have for you.

But the decision is yours. Best of luck in MWO!

I'm very sorry that you've had such terrible experiences, however I would be careful in the assumptions you seem to have made. First, yes we have a military style rank structure but that's pretty much where it ends. There's no oath where you swear to follow the lawful orders of your superiors or anything, no one is going to yell or intimidate you. The rank structure is just to provide a clearly defined chain of command to let you know who you need to talk to about what.

On another note, if you don't want to be promoted you won't be. You won't be forced to do something you're not willing to.

I just feel it would be a shame to not even try us out because of some assumptions. You can apply and see what we're all about; if you're still uncomfortable then that's where you can end it. No harm, no foul. And that's really the worst case scenario, the best case scenario might be that you have a lot in common with many others, prior military or not.

It's your choice, and either way I wish you well.
