I never liked the way the highlander looked...but man was it a good mech.

But the artist they have now is doing a great job. It might look better than you think.

Yes there are too many to chose from. I think we have a decent mix of lights right now. My worry about the Panther or even the Wolfhound is speed. Aren't they kinda slow for their size?

I wanna see another light 'mech thrown in, but there's so many to choose from! Always had a soft spot for the Panther though.

If they keep with their existing pattern will be an assault though to finish rounding out the groupings... my guess will be a Zeus but would love to see the Highlander instead.

Would be a good call too. That would give us the 80 ton Awesome, 85 ton Stalker, 90 Highlander, and 100 ton Atlas.

Oooo and it has jumpjets. An excellent addition indeed. Quite interested now.

Ohhh...forgot about the Zues. I'm betting on a 90 tonner assualt. I'm praying for the Highlander.

Banshee! I was talking to a couple of members today and was reminded of the versatility in variants of the Banshee. I've always liked that design. That would be a nice surprise.

They didn't bridge the gap weight wise with mediums. Centurion and Hunchy are both 50 tonners. So I wouldn't hedge a specific tonnage. Would be nice if they did though as that would further differentiate the mechs at least initially.

There aren't too many 40 ton mediums though to bridge the gap.

True but there are a few:

Assassin
Clint
Whitworth

Then with Starleague tech you could add in the Sentinel.

I like the whitworth, but the assassin sure was a weird mech, especially it's prime variant.

Of those 3, I think I would prefer the Whitworth as well.

All three interesting 40 ton mediums. The Assassin was a light mech hunter or a scout lance leader. In one of the Star Wars movies one of the droids reminded me of the Assassin. It just seems undergunned especially when it runs out of ammo. I like the 2-3U variant of the Clint for the all energy loadout. Even the 2-3T was good for it's role. The Whitworth would be a good mech with either the LRM or SRM loadouts. It has enough point defense weapons to defend itself and jump jets to make up for the slow 4-6 speed in the LRM model. Of the three I'd vote for the Whitworth.

I'd like to see the Clint, the 2-3U variant that Yuba mentioned. Could be a canny scout killer!

I would like to plan a trip to see the four Iowas. Culminating with a trip to Hawaii to see the Missouri. Never been to Hawaii good excuse to go.

It's been years, but I got to Pearl Harbor and it was such an amazing visit. Definitely worth making the time to get over there IMO.
