PvP is good but I tire quickly after the same old routine. I like to be able to switch to the campaign where it seems you're involved in this grand story, it's an adventure, it's a lot of fun. Maybe it's in the works. The only thing I don't like about an A.I. though, is the cheat that I guess has to be built into to make it competitive. Maybe someone will solve that problem.

There are no plans for a single player campaign at this time. However, a community warfare meta game for control of the inner sphere is in the works...

To some degree, I think the rush for multiplayer has $ signs in developers eyes and has ruined gaming. I mean multiplayer is fun...

But remember Quake 2's campaign? Half-Life 1 & 2? Portal?

StarCraft (& SC2) may be famous for its multiplayer following, especially in Korea, but do you remember the fantastic storyline in #1? Memorable characters like Raynor and Tassadar?

I miss those days. Maybe I should check Rage out.

...when plot line mattered because no one had ADHD from too much online gaming on their Xbox.

According to Dev Blog 0 Piranha Games tried to build a game with a single player campaign...... and no body wanted it. They couldn't find anyone willing to invest. MWO is the result.

Best thing we can do is to support this latest, greatest iteration of the franchise and people excited about it again. Perhaps if enough interest is generated we can see a Singleplayer or Co-Op campaign in the future.

Cheers.

If you're looking for memorable moments and fantastic storyline, do not check Rage out.

To that end I recommend Grim Fandango.

Sigh... why is it investors don't see games the way gamers do?

co-op maybe as a low priority down the road. however anything single player goes against what a massive multiplayer online (MMO) game is designed to do. get multiple players into a mission together.

Not a campaign needed (for me), just playing against smart bots with nice random sets of weapons. I would play it when the multiplayer dies, so I can feel the melancholy in 2020 when I get bored.

DIdn't the previous MechWarrior incarnations make a profit with single-player campaigns?

That was "before the internet as we know it". Nowadays major gaming companies are constantly advertising how internetically and socially involved their newest games are (which basically means "play with friends, even if you don't feel like it! Also: DRM for everyone, woohooooooo!"). I'm guessing investors' tastes have changed over the years.

Couple it with an IP that pretty much got buried in the wild like the legendary E.T. games, and... yeah. I can see how it was a tough sell.
