My Jenner can use several Fleas as back ups while it provides the heavy firepower

Honestly however, at 20 tons, and a max of 4 tons of armor, I don't think the Flea will be very survivable, though fun no doubt. Probably can turn on a dime also.

Stray Ion you must either be remembering the Flea in MW4:Mercs, or the Firefly in MW3. IIRC, Flea was not in MW3....

I still remember making fun of the Commando when it was revealed many moons ago ("aawwwww, look at this little guy! It's almost like it's a real mech!")... and here we are, getting a "battle"mech that makes the Spider look formidable.

On the other hand... some of the most fun games I've had were in a Commando, so who knows? Might turn out just fine.

Also... is it just me thinking this reveal kind of confirms mechs 17-20 being Inner Sphere after all? B)

As iconic as the Flea 15 was, I think the most recognized, and probably most used in training and battle, would have to be the Phoenix Hawk. Are there any plans of bringing this one out of hiding?

You know the Dev's select mechs that we don't expect.

I remember the Flea from mechwarriors 4, Really bad mech. But sense all lights were and now Light mechs are god. I see this being a pain up the ****.

May I suggest the Atlas-D? Upgrades the AC/10 to an AC/20, the LRM-15 to an LRM-20, two medium lasers to four medium lasers, the SRM-4 to an SRM-6, and 14 tons of armour up to 19. And all at the cost of ~12 km/h.

I'd have suggested the Cataphract, since it's....well, 75 tons. But he's right, none of the classic "heavy" 'Mechs have shown yet that were shock troops- probably because so many are Unseen. The Orion is one of the few that isn't, with the Dragon basically an overweight medium.

Imagine, a piece of fan art with a Trebuchet in a Mario paint scheme DFAing a row of four Fleas all painted as goombas.

I was going to say it's Wolf Dragoons only, but it looks it's Capellan too. From Sarna.:

Originally produced exclusively for the Dragoons until the Capellan Confederation acquired the design's blueprints via a Maskirovka raid during the 3040s, the post-Helm Memory Core FLE-17 variant is based on the older FLE-15 model. Retaining the design's maximum speed of 97.2 km/h, the addition of an Endo Steel chassis frees up weight for a MASC system that allows the 'Mechs speed to be pushed up to 129.6 km/h in short bursts. The increase of speed is required to ensure survival on the modern battlefield, as the FLE-17 is only clad in a pitiful three tons of Livingston Ceramics armor plating.

I can't stop laughing.

Great move.

The arms of the flea look a bit like they've been inspired by the fire moth.

From Sarna.net
Armament For being so fast and tiny, they certainly seem to pack a punch as well.

It also says the smalls are mounted to the rear for point defense... I don't think we'll be seeing that part.

Would prefer a locust as well, but the Flea is just as audacious for us light pilots who like to bring down giants.

Good call.

With this, MWO confirmed to be taking place in Capellan space.

Checked the base config, and I love it.
Will probably be using it until the Wolfhound appears.

The definition of a light mech. Fast, small, decent firepower.

Well, I'm fairly sure PGI didn't put that Highlander in PC Gamer only to make the spectacular Flea troll work out better.

It's extremely unlikely we're going to see either of them in the game very soon - I'd rather treat it as a promise of more great (and likely heavier) things to come :P .
