You guys at Piranha games have no idea how happy you've made me. Not only is this one of my favorite mechs, you guys did a kick @** job on the artwork. Can't wait to see it in game!

But their should be more Medium and Heavy and also Assaults... May we get 20 Mechs? so the Flea could be the start of more?

But so would the Mercury (20 tons), Commando (25 tons) , etc..
The Flea is useless.. at 20 tons it wont have enough armor, or speed, or heatsinks or.. Imagine a Commando with 5 tons less of anything..
That is unless they make the base mech also 5 tons lighter.. then it might prove interesting.
Being a Commando pilot, I can tell you light mecehs are fun, but the Flea seems like a waste of FDs' ability.. He could have spent more times on a useful mech.

The same argument, however, could be made against any and every 20-ton 'Mech.
Standard internal structure is 10% of total 'Mech weight - 2.0 tons for a 20-tonner.
Standard cockpits weighs 3.0 tons, regardless of 'Mech weight.
"Normal" speeds for a light IS 'Mech (6/9 in TT terms; translates into a maximum running speed of 97.2 kph) generally require at least a 120 Engine (4.0 tons for a Standard 120).
Standard gyros weigh ~1% of the Engine rating (rounded up) - 2.0 tons for a 120 Engine.
Maximum armor is 4.5 tons of Standard Armor.
The Engine includes 10 Heat Sinks, with a number equal to (Engine Rating)/25 (rounded down) being inside the Engine itself - for a 120 Engine, six of the 10 base Heat Sinks would have to be assigned critical spaces.
With 3 tons of armor (~70% of max. armor), a top speed of 97.2 kph, and using only standard components/technologies, the base 'Mech would weigh 14.0 tons, leaving 6.0 for weapons and other equipment.
With an Endo Steel internal structure (1.0 tons) and a 120 XL Engine (2.0 tons) and 3.0 tons of Ferro Fibrous armor (~78% of max. armor), the base 'Mech would weigh 11.0 tons and have 9.0 tons to allocate to weapons and other equipment.
Just because a 'Mech can't carry 10+ Medium Lasers (or 10+ Small Lasers, due to hardpoint restrictions) or dual PPCs/Gauss Rifles doesn't mean that 'tis useless.

Or, are you saying that there should be no 20-ton 'Mechs in MWO?

The fact it can be used solely to TAG targets makes it anything but useless. A big part of the game is disrupting the enemy; you run in with your wee light, take a few potshots at the big bruisers and they lumber on after you.
Really, calling it useless just shows a lack of imagination.

Something that would make them say and think something like.- You're telling me that's possible? Really? You're serious?
Holy shi... Now that i know this i won't look at such a little mech with such critical eyes anymore.
Well i guess you learn something new every day.

As for Flea itself. Well...it's cute but while it's base top speed is nice 97km...many lights has that as base and mechs like Jenner are even faster than that (you can check sarna). Plus depending on how the matchmaking algo gets finalized, (whether it's number of people plus tonnage plus ELO, based on tonnage plus ELO, etc or some other combination of something). It's whatever. Fact that MWO is mech on mech action. Variants like fire ant will be quite limited in uses since it's primarily designed as anti-personnel.
Overall, I think Flea is not a good option because their niche in is already filled by Commando, Raven, Jenner. Another potential scout in mech vs. mech action doesn't help much. Plus Jenner would just rip up Flea anyway. Kinda like it already does against Commando and Raven due to superior mobility thanks to extra tonnage.
