Sorry. Ignore my last post. I'm still not clear what the rules are, but as I dig through the forums, I'm realizing this has already been hotly discussed...don't want to beat a dead horse!

Oh no, you've got it right. They haven't been forced to change their names yet is all.

I suppose it's worth noting that these two units have some of the same people from previous mechwarrior titles that ran their units with canonical names in player-run games, which as I understand it leaves them with some emotional ties to the names. However, realistically, few people, if any, are confident that their MWO unit name will be something that's canonical in any major way.

Just joined the site(thanks for invite), finally sorted out TS (was Skypeing a bit but mostly a PUGger), and as long as my connection holds out looking forward to Purple Birdy antics.

Do we have a Unit that has decided to go Euro Server native (when it's launched) yet? That's where I need to be.

Well smaller units are a great way to learn, alternatively you could talk to Joe Luck and ChrisClaw or any other Reserves officer about what they're doing for all the players who don't join a unit, new and experienced alike. Their experiences may give you some insight into what you might like to do for/with the new players in a unit. And of course any unit leader in the house should be happy to help you with their own experiences!
