I realy realy don't like the thought of Highlander and other ComStar only Battlemechs getting in Player Hands because its COUNTER CANON.
But this may be the prequell or the start of constant reasoning why Mechs like Highlander KingCrap and so on turn up in Player Hands.
Or in other words this would be totaly not funny.

Even if it was limited to NOT going Full AeroFighter mode.
That movement rate would not work on existing maps.
Yes, it's under armed for the weight, and light on armor.
Awesome for recon and quick fill of a hole in your line.
Although a beagle probe would be nice too.
Bit early in the time line for C3 but looking forward to it.

Happily finding my place in the Murphys Law lineup.

I doubt it would be to the extent of a planet full of SL era mechs, and finding equipment and going "Woohoo!!" is pretty short sighted. It's the manufacturing techniques that are the real gems. If the tech specs and plans for "new" mechs were found, it would allow for slow rate construction of SL-era mechs without breaking the TL, especially since the Grey Death Memory Core has already been recovered.
On a side note, I doubt people will like the standard SLDF mechs much, the SLDF was an expeditionary force, they tend to run energy heavy and hot, usually only their "base defence" mechs have a balanced loadout. I suspect this was also one of the reasons for Comstar's attrition tactics against the Clans, wear them out until the weapons difference start to show.

Just because a mech is traditionally piloted by Comstar pilots, does not mean you couldn't get your hands on one. Obviously, you could earn one through salvage, or perhaps even through payment for a job assuming you are in good relations with Comstar, etc.
