21, only dabbled in the BattleTech universe until a few months ago. A childhood friend of mine is a huge fan of the MechWarrior series and had been playing them since MW2, so I'd always been dimly aware of it all. Between me getting more interested in mech games from the other side of the Pacific and hearing rumors about the future of MechWarrior, I eventually decided to jump in. I'm currently playing the hell out of MekTek's free release of MW4Mercs and making plans to visit a BattleTech center to get some real time in the cockpit, and I'm really looking forward to becoming a part of the community.

17, and still rolling on MW4: Mercs, just not online. Sometimes I play MW3 (not CoD, obviously), but mostly Mercs, testing out new configurations of the 'Mechs. Sorry, just going into a little bit of my life there... =P

I'm old enough to yell at everyone to "Get off my Lawn.. or I'll set off the AP pods." Blood makes the grass grow.

heh.. most of the players on this forum are younger than the oldest Ral Partha Firestarter mini I have sitting at the base of my monitor. The date stamped on the bottom of it, is 1986, 25 years old.

I'm the same age as your Firestarter.

That said, I grew up with TT games, and Battletech was just another one of them. I loved it, and the card game, and the video games.

How many people actually played the Card game?

Also, loved the books, but I've only read a few. I am hoping to buy some of the books to read again.

"i been to one side of this fed up galexy to the ofther and backagian i seen some crazy stuff" 29 come jan 22. sence i got mechwarrior2 for the sega saturn and then mech2 for the pc then onto heavy gear 1 and 2 and i been hooked to mechs metal and crazy music and pcs ever sence.

started playing mech2 online in 96 on mplayer witch later became gamespy. i started in clan black pythons i might bring this clan back who knows.
my call sign then was BP-Predmech, then onto mech3 and joined clan firemandrills bunch of the funnyiest red monkeys on the scene then lol. stoped playing mechs after heavygear went down the tubes and mechwarrior went mechinsult when microsoft took over for the 4th installment. i wen't to college for computer programing and i work as a matence worker at an Rv park.

36 years old , been playing Battletech for 20 years, originally tabletop, but many variations in video games. The best I have seen is MegaMech online, but it takes soooo long to play a single match it is unreasonable with work and everything else.

I hope it has more depth than a simple shooter (Battletech is not Gauntlet ;) ) but it makes the actual fighting last a more realistic time frame. (5 hours for what should be a ~10 minute fight in the 'real' Btech world is a little too much commitment as I get older).

Thanks for this.

I hit 38 this year. Ever since they started dropping mmo's on the market I wondered how long it would be before a mech warrior title got the mmo treatment. Never even dreamed it would take this long. I know people who have kids in college or have grandchildren that I used to play MW2 with.

34 here.

Played table top and MW, MW2+Mercs, MW3 and lost interest in MW4 (it sucked) imo.

I lost interest in Mech Assault.

I am eager to see a rebirth of MechWarrior as long as it doesn't go the way of the FPS and made "easier".

I wish that had incorporated aspects of all three into one with present day graphics.

Hi older ones. 32 here. I still have MW1,2 and 3 on my harddrive. Im big fan of table top Battle Tech and MW series. Im looking forward and I hope that the game physics will be more similar to the MW2 that to MW4. In older one peace I have feeling like Im realy piloting 100 toons of steel ...not like in MW4 ...It was more like I was piloting "lightfooted paperbox *******" ;) (sorry for my english ...eastern block).
