Get the DOS version of the game and run it using DOSBOX. You may have to play with it a bit, but it'll run (if your processor is up to it).

I got a DOSBOX-prepackaged version of MW2 (oh noes dat piracy), but wanted to get the Titanium Mercs running. Oh well.

Thanks for that, however.

27 now. I do believe I was just a wee lil' 12 year old when I first played MW2:Mercs... and quickly started converting Catapults into Nova Cat wannabes in the mechlab. :)

I've been playing Battletech for almost 12 yrs and was introduced to the novels when I was 15. I love the novels, boardgame and the entire Mechwarrior series. Looking forward to getting back into a real mech game!

If you guys need something to check out to get you by take a look at my collection of mech madness!!! (Keep in mind this doesn't have the most recent 25+ mechs that I acquired recently)

40 as of this year, Played Crescent Hawks Inception on an Amiga 1000, played every other iteration oth the video game over time, played tabletop for a spell, even got to work for VWE at a battletech roving site for a short stint. The steady footfalls of a mech on patrol are like a lullaby.

42 here, Been playing Battletech since the Warhammer was on the cover, alpha striking meant you would probably shut down, Good Salvage meant a replacement actuator for your right hip, and Clans were a strange Scottish tradition

I'll be 50 next month. I started on the tabletop and went to PC from there. Heck, I am so old, my Thunderbolt has gray hair.

I guess that I'm one of the 'old' guys, not in the last age bracket but not that far off (sigh).
HEY RELL - at least your Thunderbolt still *HAS* hair ...(another sigh)
I'm still trying to figure out which creaks more ... me or my mech ... I think it's me ...
Just for grins, I found one of my old Yahoo Groups posts (dated: 05/07/2003) (wow-has it been *that* long already?) for your reading pleasure. So grab a chair you young-ins and whatever you're drinking and let me tell you about the time me and the guys were on patrol on ......

Hodson:        Yeah Boss ?
Striker Lead:  You sure you're gonna be ok to run this op?  After all, it was *your* family that got banged up by those b*stards during their last raid.
Hodson:        I'm *frosty* Boss.
Striker Lead:  Just keep it that way, MechWarrior, I don't want anyone who isn't going to keep a level head on my lance. Got that mister?
Hodson:        Roger that.
=====================================================================
Woodruff:      YO! Picking up something, it's *real* faint.  Bearing: 225 relative.

Striker Lead:  Remember that little brunette from last week?
Airwolf:       Do I ever ... Cynthia ... talk about *HOT* ... can't wait to hook up with her again ... what about her... jealous ???
Striker Lead:  Not in the least.  Her father came to see me later that night.
Airwolf:       Hey!!! I didn't touch her!!!  I didn't do *ANYTHING*
Striker Lead:  Whoa ... throttle down ... I know you didn't ... he was just concerned about his daughter ...
Airwolf:       As he *should* be ... Boy if I ever get a chance to get a target lock on that one ... talk about a target of *opportunity* ...
Striker Lead:  *ANYWAY*... I told him: Bro, it'll be ok...that boy'll behave himself ....
Airwolf:       ... beautiful eyes, sweet full lips, incredible body ... waitjustaminute ... "Bro" ... "BRO"?!?!?!? ... as in ...
Striker Lead:  Yup, she's my niece ...
Woodruff:      (LOUD LAUGHTER)
Hodson:        (BARELY RESTRAINED CHUCKLE)
Airwolf:       (DEAD SILENCE)
=====================================================================
Airwolf:       AW HELL !!!

Striker Lead:  Shutup Two ... Have they noticed us yet?
Airwolf:       No, I don't think ... (WHAM) (STATIC)
Airwolf:       I'M HIT !!! THEY'VE SPOTTED US!
Woodruff:      No sh*t, ... Sherlock ....

Striker Lead:  SHUT UP TWO!  One, did you see where Three went.
Woodruff:      He ran into the woods...can't tell his exact position... too much interference.
Striker Lead:  Sh*t, alright ... defensive retreat ... make it expensive for them to come after us.
Woodruff:      Roger That
Airwolf:       Roger
=====================================================================
Striker Lead:  Lead to Lance, Give me a SitRep...
Woodruff:      I'm ok Boss, nothing's breached.... Armor's getting pretty thin though.
Airwolf:       Easy for *you* to say... I'm breached in both side torsos ... and a frozen leg actuator....(CRACKLE) (STATIC)
Woodruff:      STRIKER TWO IS DOWN.   Looks like ... d*mn ... they blew his left leg off.
Striker Lead:  Two, Report!
Airwolf:       (STATIC)
Woodruff:      Hate to say this Boss, but we need to get the hell out of here...now ....
Striker Lead:  Sh*t...dammit ... full retreat...
Woodruff:      They've reached Striker Two's position ... D*mn, looks like the Warhammer's gonna deliver the coup-de-grace.

Hodson:        *THAT'S* for my sister ...
Striker Lead:  Three ... Status ...
Hodson:        I'm *frosty* Boss.
=====================================================================
(((=== EPILOGUE 1 ===)))
Woodruff:      So Boss ... We keeping him? ... or is he toast ???
Striker Lead:  Who ... Hodson? ... *I'm* keeping him ... the base commander was about to court-martial him for dereliction of duty, disobeying orders, etc, etc, etc.  But he *did* turn the tide of that battle, we picked up 4 relatively clean mechs in the salvage and he saved Airwolf's sorry *ss.
(((=== EPILOGUE 2 ===)))
Hodson:     Yo Airwolf, how's the leg?
Airwolf:    It's a little bit better now....I'll tell you one thing though...It was one HELL of a feeling having your mech's leg blown off... that neurohelmet feedback ... felt like my own leg was torn off.
Airwolf:    Hey, Hodson ...
Hodson:     Yeah ?
Airwolf:    Thanks man ... I owe you one
Hodson:     No problem ... Just make sure to come save *MY* *ss when I need it
Airwolf:    Anytime, pal....anytime
Airwolf:    Hey...I just found out something that you might be interested in...
Hodson:     What?
Airwolf:    Cynthia's got a sister ... a year younger than her ... (grin)
=====================================================================
=====================================================================
=====================================================================
And there you have it boys -- hope you learned something ... like don't get on your Lance Lead's bad side ... *VERY, VERY IMPORTANT*
And in case some of you were wondering about Cynthia ... yup ... married her ... now *I* wouldn't have called it a shotgun wedding or anything like that ... but there *was* this LBX-20 ....

lol, the poll results say it all, with 80.5% of the audience between 22 and 45 I'm gonna say it's safe to assume that most of us are MW2 Merc veterans at the latest.
