I'm listening to this while playing MWO right now. Really great mix of themes. Thanks for sharing that link.

I mostly pilot light mechs, but I can adapt to almost any style, my current favourite mech is the Raven for it's versatility.

By the way, I've watched your video, it's useful and makes good use of those youtube comments xD, you should link it at some jenner guide as it can be of help to some of the more recent players.

Other than that, I've got an AWS-8T loaded up with 2xLPL, 2xSRM4, AMS, and as many heatsinks as I could fit. Stock speed. About maxed out armor as well. It's a great 'Mech to follow along with another Assault and provide direct, close-range fire-support. Plus it can take the heat off the other guy if need be, with all that armor. It can pick off Lights fairly-well, too. I'm hoping the advent of DHS will make it a bit more effective, though what it could really use is a little boost of some kind to LPL. They just seem a bit ineffective sometimes. I dunno what they need exactly... In any event, I still manage to do quite well with it with a competent team that knows how to make use of Assaults soaking up damage and pushing the line forward and such.
Also, I'll be grabbing me a Centurion again once they fix the No Armor bug. Love that 'Mech as well. Might have to give the Cicada a spin at some point, too. Light Hunter sounds fun.

Since the trail mech rotation I've been favoring the Centurion over my Raven. I like it's slower pace and energy loadout. Gotta be careful with heat though.
I would like try the Cicada when it comes out. Last I heard it's due out this month. Maybe it'll be in tomorrows patch.

That and a Jenner (the model with no misiles) and XL engine.

What configuration do you have in your Raven? Maybe we can give you some tips.

How about using normal Large Lasers? They would give you extra range and less heat in exchange for a bit of damage.

Well, I had dual Large Lasers on there originally. Think that's what the -8T has by default, along with some LRMs. I haven't tried them since they made those ROF tweaks and such, but, I know I didn't much care for them before. The Pulse's feel like they're a bit better to use at SRM range, anyway: can just keep slagging armor and occasionally missile'ing them until they explode. It's really a nice loadout to supplement another Assault with more hard-hitting weapons.

Anyway, if tomorrow patch is going to add DHS, heat would become less of an issue.
By the way, it must be really scary having to fight that awesome, I would find it even scarier with SSRM's, but still... (that is, from a light mech pilot point of view ^^U).

I like my mechs fast, low profile, and packing heat.
... Of course all this requires me to get a half decent PC too.
