Fast mechs are probably the most dangerous type of Mech damage wise given a capable pilot, because they are uniquely able to add their strength in any conflict within a 500m range in seconds.

Basically, while they have less damage per second, they get that many more seconds of firing time. Personally I've never been able to outdamage my Jenner in any setup other than a dedicated LRM boat... and that only works when my team has a capable spotter.

Assaults are important for tanking to keep the pressure off the heavies, who usually do best as snipers or LRM boats. Mediums seem to be best situated to hunt lights. But owing to their lower speed, you can still be hit quite easily piloting those, regardless of how good a pilot you are. Whereas terrain cover is much easier to get to as a Light pilot. =P

Eww, 90 KPH. That's a little slow. You'll probably want 120 KPH or higher to avoid being Gausscat (or even Hunchback) food. Are you running an XL, or is that a Standard?

The 4 small laser and SRM6 setup seems pretty good. CASE might not be necessary though. You might want to put your SRM ammo in your cockpit and legs, because if it's ever hit bad enough for the ammo to blow up, you're going to be dead anyway. Using those .50 tons you can add more armour, or remove some armour and add a heat sink/one ton SRM ammo.

Other than that, your setup seems pretty good.

Hayashi basically said almost everything I was going to say, You can change your 195std engine for a 275xl (125km/h on a raven), or go for the 300xl (136km/h) but they are 11 and 12.5 tons and very expensive . You could remove a few heatsinks, as the new engines would give you 4~5 extra heatsinks (they add 1 HS each 25 engine rating) and get rid of CASE by moving your ammo to the legs.
That's just my opinion, you should try other things and stick with what you feel more confortable.

My engine is a 195 Standard. I can move my SRM ammo to my head. It's just the 1 ton/1critial slot of ammo. I'll hold off on adding more since I've never come close to shooting off the whole ton in a match before.

My current engine is 7 tons so I can at least drop in a higher rated but equal weight XL and still get extra speed, but I'll wait to see if the Cicada comes out today. I'll probably get an XL if it looks like I'm not going to like the Cicada. Getting an XL will take a huge chunk of what little I've got. The 225XL is the only 7 ton XL engine and that will cost roughly 1.1 million cbills more than the entire Raven. If I'm getting extra heatsinks with a higher rated engine then I can probably remove the ones I have and get a few extra tons for a bigger engine. I've got 2 heatsinks in each leg plus 2 more in the center torso plus one in the right torso.

Well...looks like there's not going to be a patch today. So, no Cicada. Guess I'll be buying that XL engine then.

I was saving for the cicada too... Maybe I'll spend my savings on a catapult or some other medium/heavy mech.
