HI all.
Just curious how active y'all are? I have just come back to the game after playing the "closed" beta some and I am looking for a relaxed group to roll with. I was attracted here mostly because of Hayashi's post in a different thread, and because I do speak some Japanese too. Relaxed people and a Japanese theme? Sign me up. :)

私はたいてい歴史のお宅だ ;)

We're active enough that we've had 7 players on at the same time once before, but we usually have only 2-3. This is more or less around the clock, but there are some times when nobody will be on.

Maybe after we hit 90 members we'll start having 4 people on consistently. There's enough going on IRL that we won't have very high participation rates all the time, but that was kind of the entire point.

Oh the 7 people day was just a coincidence.

The only requirement is wanting to join us! xD
By the way, we are active, but we are spread into lots of timezones, so it's a bit hard to find more than 4~5 people online at the same time (one day we were 11 players on C3, but that was a rare sight xD). Anyways, be welcome and feel free to join us on our C3 channel anytime! :)

It's the user interface to an orbital satellite system which covers the entire planet, which uses high-precision lasers to link several computers together and allows easy text/vocal communication with anyone or any group who also is using C3! You need to be a proficient magic user to gain access to it!

Yes, you need special software, you can get it and register here.
The information about our channel can be found on the first post, if you have any other problem just ask around here and someone will help you. ;)

Thanks! ;)

FYI, my take on touhou is not "bullet hell", it's just plain hell haha... I use to be quite good at these games, until I played touhou and took an undodgeable spawn to my knee XP

For the record, I'll expect there to be a lot more activity when we're out of beta. I know I'll care more.

Bump from third page.

But, I also have a legitimate question and am not just bumping for no reason! How many of y'all use Steam? I'm pondering setting up a Steam group so we have a better way of knowing who's online than booting up C3 or MWO. Group chat would also give us a place to talk/share links/take it easy without clogging up the forum here.

Sound off and be counted.

I installed Steam just to answer your question in the positive. Should be Youngblood on it, added MWO as my only game in the library. ;w;

It's hot. Don't touch it and burn your little gap-hag hands.

Also, Youngblood: I just did a search on Steam and there are approximately 1 gazillion people with the name Youngblood. You can just shoot me a friend invite (same name as here) if you'd like.

I use steam for most of my other games but C3 has a nice chat feature, do we need another one?

Well, that's just it. I'm trying to see if enough people use Steam that having a group chat and all that would be helpful. I, myself, pretty much live on Steam, but only turn on C3 when I go to play MWO. If we could have something that everyone just turned on when they're on their PC, but not necessarily playing anything (as I and many friends do with Steam), then that'd be great for seeing who's online and available for playing. Or for chatting. Whatever.

But I'm just wondering if anyone else uses Steam as much as I do. If most of you end up having to install Steam just for this purpose, then it's not really worth it. May as well just stick with C3.

I see, yeah I installed C3 for MWO specifically. I figured if they get the C3 integration at a level it's seamless then most other players will be using it.

Although I do have Steam automatically startup during bootup so I am always on that. Perhaps we need a poll (oh no, like there isn't enough of them) =)

It looks like I can't. Steam bars new users from sending friend invites until they purchase something or redeem a gift or Guest Pass.

Well, that was an interesting adventure.

Oh. Well, that's new. Guess it's an anti-spam measure. In the past I have had a couple brand-new accounts try to hit me up for chatting, obviously with the intention of spamming something or attempting to scam me outta my password. Guess this is a nice feature, though it is unfortunate in your case. :x

I'd do a poll for it if there was a good place to throw one up. But, of course I don't want to clutter up the forums with -another- poll. Especially one that concerns no one but our little bunch of TooHoos.

That's actually another issue. On release CW will be released. I have no idea how that will affect us. We might have to convert to a merc corp to stick together. Can't play for Draconis no more. =P

Why not just set C3 to load on boot? Steam would further increase system resource utilisation.

I think this kind of thing is why people have external forums for their clans. But we could always set up a manual poll - where you reply in text to answer the poll question - in the thread. This also prevents people from dropping in out of nowhere and voting in our poll for no reason. =P

Well, we could set C3 to load on boot...

But my whole reason for pushing Steam is the fact that it's kinda everything rolled into one: got your game manager/downloader, friends list, chat, etc all right there. With an overlay for most games, too, so you don't even have to alt-tab or anything. As I said before: I personally love the crap outta it.

</free advertising>

If others don't really like using it that much, that's fine. I just wanted to test the water here and see if anyone else used Steam enough to warrant creation and use of a group.

It's looking like just using C3 is best. If everyone will start booting the program up and just letting it idle, it'd be decent for seeing who's available. We'll just have to start using that main channel as a general hang-out, and use the lance sub-channels I made for actual drops, to keep that main channel free of clutter so people can chat in it or look for lancemates. Whatever.
