New map variant and new game mode - I'm more of a more game mode/maps person then more mechs.
Secondly the cadet bonus is great and some of my friends who tried it originally and left have given it another shot and are liking it much more this time around. I still haven't been able to persuade them to join Gensokyo yet though ... I think the Cirno's math class is putting them off =P
Finally I was thinking it was time to get off the Dragon mechs and start using assault type mechs .. then they had to release two Hero Dragons. Back on the Dragons again.

The pages state that you're based in Singapore? 0.o Damn I keep thinking you're from Japan! Damn I think you literally performed at my doorstep and I'm oblivious to it >.<
Anyway your composition has the feel that makes ppl flow with the melody which I think is what music is about. Nice!
And I totally feel you in terms of the music industry here being discouraging and limiting. People here usually just follow mainstream music and shunted indie groups without even giving them a chance (Imo some indie groups make better music than those so called "big time" producers as the focus is different; indie producers make music mostly for the passion!)
I myself started dwelling in Vocaloid production as a past time recently (song writing mainly, I can't compose for **** XP) and you tend to feel a bit of a closed mindedness of people here compared to Japan when it comes to the creative industry. Most people don't even give the music a slight chance by labelling them "fake" straight away, which is very sad!
Anyways keep me posted if you have any more performance or albums, I enjoy listening to your music

Basically, it caters to what the majority of people like to hear, because it's the majority of people who pay them to write.
I don't like it because my musical tastes are not mainstream, but I fully recognise that actually, the majority of people out there like that sort of stuff. And similarly, they would often prefer the mainstream stuff to mine, because I don't write according to those rules.
In our songwriting lessons and all that one of the techniques taught to us is to listen to a mainstream, successful song (say, Titanium) and copy the structure of the song. The transition types. The feel. The sound of the rhythms. The exaggeratedness of sidechain compression (that's the effect when you hear all the other instruments, like the melodies, rhythmically decrease instantaneously in volume the moment the kick drum hits), since that is one of the more reliable ways to produce music that most people will like. Gangnam style is the epitome of it. It copied certain transitions nearly wholesale from Party Rock, accompaniment elements from 'are you ready for this' and more... and for that reason that it incorporated basically everything people liked about dance music in a single track, it reached worldwide popularity - and even now, the main reason why people hate it usually isn't because they didn't like the track the first time they heard it, but more because once you hear something 142756 times from the cafe to the toilet to the bus to an obnoxious neighbour, you kind of start to hate any song.
I chose to disregard that entire section of the class, since there's no way to force people to like your music anyway, and even if I followed it I'd be one out of tens of thousands that did that kind of thing. However, music that fits my tastes is very, very rare, so when I write music and shape it to a state that I like, I can guarantee at least one person will love that song. Should anyone else also like that style, that would be better for me, of course, but at least it's not a wasted effort.
That said, I don't think many people actually think the 'best' songs in the world are the mainstream ones. The exact combination of elements in a song that you like such as to make the 'perfect' song is rarely going to appear in a mainstream one, and indies who experiment more are more likely to have stuff that you would consider perfect. However, because they don't adhere to norms, this also means that the majority of indie music out there, you will probably end up hating. That's fine, too.
I'm from Singapore for the moment, but that might no longer be true in 2 years. Ahem. I'm not going to bash my head against the system here, there have been literally zero Singapore musicians who made it big in Singapore. All of the successful ones made it in Taiwan before coming back. Japan has far higher competition in both quantity and quality, but that also means I have more people to learn from, and more people to collaborate with. Two of my main songwriting techniques I copied off ZUN and Nobuo Uematsu anyway, and there's probably a lot more to learn from other bands I'll never hear about if I don't go to Japan.
I haven't been able to play MechWarrior Online recently. The patch really borked things for me in terms of rubberbanding, so I'm doing other things while waiting for the next patch. I recently got into contact with an indie game developer (the guys who made the awesome freeware RPG Master of the Wind - google it if you have spare time between murdering Stalkers and Cataphracts), so it's not entirely impossible that in future I might write songs for them. The previous game used too much music from commercial sources (Castlevania, Naruto (before it became famous) and such...), and so if they don't actually have a songwriter on their team yet, there could be a place for me on the team of their next release. We'll see how that goes, but I might just be involved in game development yet.
After all, we are physically limited to a single location, but the Internet is not limited, and it allows for some collaborations that would have been unthinkable just 50 years ago.

But yeah keep up the work man don't bend towards mainstream, let mainstream bend towards you!
P/S: I'm now still a newbie and fiddling around with my very first vocaloid software. But if you don't mind me "spoiling" your composition I think your compositions are very good for the kind of lyrics I'm learning on writing (the narrating kind). Since I myself can't compose so I'm looking for ppl who don't mind having lyrics added to their compositions. Maybe one day when i'm more proficient I may see if you are willing to share some of your composition.

That was a very interesting read about music in your country, it looks even worse than in my country o_o. (right now I'm listening to the songs you uploaded before and I find them very good!)
And that's all I can say about music right now... ^^U
Anyways, I wanted to ask you if you have reinstalled the game in order to try to fix that rubberbanding problems you're having, last patch have fixed some things (even my fps are better now! xD ) and the only time I experience some rubberbanding is inside the forest map cave and when bumping on other mechs.
If you have tried that, find me on c3 and we can try to find other solutions for that problem.

It doesn't refer to the technique of using them to help you hold your pee, if you're wondering. It's a graphical thing, where you teleport back and forth between certain locations every second or so.
This makes me throw up of course. One does not simply teleport at that rate and keep a straight face.
I think I'll stay off the client for now. =P
Off topic, but can't remember which yukkuri introed this on C3 again. Maybe it was Firestorm.

It's pretty darn good. Especially the hidden ending.
Psst. The creator of this game is yet ANOTHER Japanese indie developer. And the translator of this game... is a Touhou fan.

Yes. 'Twas I who linked that game on C3 the other day. Glad to see you enjoyed it. The True End really was something, wasn't it?
@Youngblood
Someone should sign up as her! The poor gate guard needs some lovin' too every now and again.
And on a related note, I think I'm going to give Reisen over to Reisen, and take Momiji instead. I feel like continuing to use her is going to confuse new people.
...Though, really, this stuff doesn't matter that much anyway. How often do we even refer to each other by our chosen avatars? Unless we start RPing somewhere, it's pretty moot, ain't it?

Not just the True Ending. The No-save Cat True Ending made it EVEN moar epic. It clearly showed who just every single character in the game truly was... what Legless Girl was trying to say, and why she was having so much difficulty saying it.
And at the end you also understand the symbolism behind all of the things you have to do with the other things you get to speak to.
It's literally the tightest plot I've seen, and also the darkest+saddest story I've ever seen, making the previous record holder of Silent Hill 2 look plain tame in comparison. One does not simply write a story like that.
I'm wondering whether to switch to Utsuho Reiuji myself... because, well, she's Nuclear Fusion itself, and few things are more epic than a sun-in-a-crow-in-a-crow who's hot enough that dying in front of her won't leave a carcass for Orin to pick up. But then, I'm already taking both Patchy and Koakuma so that'll be pretty unfair to them. =P
Also, I like to log on as Reisen #3 every now on then on C3 to confuse EVEN MOAR PEOPLE.

That is really impressive Hayashi. Much respect on your compositions. I will have to admit, being a very big Hisashi-sama fan, Sayounara does has very similar elements to innocence/carrying you =)
Look forward to hearing more from you.

*cough* ...Ah, good. You got the Cat ending, too.
@Zanathan
Fortunately, the game is only like, two hours long at the most? Depends on how long it takes you to figure out some of the puzzles in the game. They're not too bad, though. And there's also a good walkthrough on the site if you want some hints.
Definitely worth the time, though. When you get those endings, it makes it -so- worthwhile. You'll probably be picking your jaw up off the floor. I know I was.

Took me about an hour and a half without hints. Would've been faster if i didn't suck so much at avoiding certain enemies.
That was for the normal ending, mind. Took me -5- hours to unlock the no-save ending. Because, as aforementioned, I suck at avoiding certain enemies, and when you can't save, it takes some time.
My jaw didn't drop though. I kind of was crawling on the bed for a while because my whole body dropped. The implications of the True ending blew my mind - I can't believe somebody would have a mind twisted enough to write a story like that.
Then when I unlocked the no-save ending, I had to do some extra crawling, wasn't able to say much for some time either.
Kind of like Legless Girl, but without the pain.
