When we've taken back the throne of the Star League, and put down the false claims of hegemony of the Inner Sphere, the record will be set straight, and no one will doubt the inherent greatness of House Kurita and the brave men and women of the Draconis Combine.

Oh, really?

It was more what the Combine did not do that angered the rest of the Inner Sphere. While the other states were allowing the Regular Army to pass through their realms and to use Star League bases, Minoru banned General Kerensky from entering the Draconis Combine. It reached the point that General Kerensky had to invade a portion of the Combine to get the use of several Star League facilities he needed to create a flanking front on Amaris. On Vega, lmbro, Styx, and Altair, Regular Army forces clashed with DCMS forces. To be fair, these confrontations were little more than token engagements in which the Combine forces retreated after only a few minutes of combat.
And then there's this little gem:
Quote
Why so many people are so pleased to hear that he has been appointed Regent and Protector is mystery. He is a soldier. An excellent one, true, but a soldier nevertheless.
It is doubtful that he will stray too far from what Simon Cameron would have wished. If he were truly as good as everyone claims, he would take his power as Regent and rule as First Lord until the boy Richard comes of age.
Even now, it seems that the young Cameron lacks the inner authority to rule effectively-not ten years from now,not twenty, not thirty years from now. We will have no choice but to gut the Star League once and for all.
—From the personal diary of Takiro Kurita, entry dated June 2751
Both of the above are excerpts from ComStar's own report on the Draconis Combine, and it sounds like the rulers of the Combine at the time had little love for the Camerons and the Star League and did everything short of trying to assassinate Kerensky during the Amaris Coup.
"House Kurita was the last and most loyal supporter of the Star League"? 'Twas hardly the case.
Takiro Kurita and his son Minoru did naught to be helpful during the Amaris Coup.
The latter started the First Succession War by attacking the Lyrans in some misguided attempt at "Bujitsu", and his son Jinjiro massacred Kentares IV after they had the audacity - the sheer nerve - to not supplicate themselves before such a sullied House.

Ah, yes, ComStar, the House that isnt a House. The Inner Sphere power fighting for control of the Inner Sphere by pretending it isnt. Yes, I'm sure their report on how they should be the new Star League and we shouldnt is entirely objective and fair. Whenever anyone tries to point out how evil we Dragons are (I do believe I heard the word 'snake' somewhere?) they always bring up the dreaded Kentares Massacre. As if somehow the mere mention of that battle somehow dismisses all other arguments for House Kurita. The real story is that the Federated Suns, knowing how poorly they fared in honorable combat, armed their civilians with suicide devices and other dishonorable tactics of asymetric warfare, and ordered the assassination of the noble Minoru Kurita who was overseeing the liberation of the world. The Davs knew if he were allowed to live, he'd easily win over the population, and so they ruthlessly murdered him. When Coordinator Jinjiru learend of Davion's declaraition of total war, he understood that the Feds would use any and all means to stop their people from gaining their freedom, and gave the order to treat all Kentarese citizens as lawful combatants. I've heard other people use numbers like 52 million and 90%, but these are gross exagerations, and do not accuratly reflect the casualties suffered by the DCMS rooting out insurgents. The order to use melee weapons was given, but it was to prevent the wholesale destruction of the planet's infrastructure during the urban campaigns.

For the Combine supporters on here, talk about revisionist history. The SLDF did most of the fighting to remove the Amaris ***** from the Star League while all the great houses manuevered to take advantage of the position to become the First Lord of the Star League.
As much as I think General Alexander Kerensky was a coward for abandonning the Star League I do not give any credit to any of the Great Houses either who all eagerly participated in the succession wars, the first being the most destructive.
Also the only reasonable leaders to come out of the Combine started with Theodore Kurita. The rest were as fanatical or worse than Takashi Kurita. During the Succession Wars the only difference between House Kurita and House Liao was that the Combine occupied more space to repress it's people in.
