Hi Guys,

Over the past months I've been working on this model of a P-47C aircraft. It started out as a client commission but its passed that stage a while back and I'm finishing it now for my personal use.

----------------------------------------------

This is the model at this moment in time. Please note this model still does not have any specular map, just getting the basic colour finished first and will develop the specular map once I start weathering it.

The markings are of Robert A. Lamb from 56th Fighter Group in 1943. I've not got something in mind for that particular aircraft but needed to pick one for working:)

Here is the model itself in an earlier stage:

Right, the model itself is finished now. Time to get on with UV'ing and texturing!

It's beautiful! Excellent modelling, CGI quality. Love that Double Wasp.

These beasts had incredible survivability, here are some cool clips. Fun begins at 5:40

Zakatak: Great clip, it indeed shows off the ruggedness of this plane and indeed if I put it next to my BF109 and Spitfire model it's quite huge in comparisson :)

Inteli: Nah next project is to finish the textures on my Panzer II after which I'll begin on an Me410 which has been on my planning for a long time.

Sammael55: Thanks!

Looks great! How about a P-38j25-LO for your next one? :-D

A question: Why did you opt for the C-Model Roazorback? I would think that the D, being the most produced by a large margin, would be easier to build due to greater reference material.

Rorik Jorgensson: It was a client comission and he needed the "C" version. I also made a "D" conversion which was very little work. It only has more cowlflaps and a bulge under the belly. So I've got both ;)

Peter: How come? This is off-topic so I think it's the right forum. But if you insist here is one of my first 3D models ever from 2005, a Vulture Mech and a drawing from 2004

Nachocheese: Thanks :)

Joe3142: Psssst....look here. I already made one in 2010 B)

That makes sense. Excellent work though. I'd love to see it completely finished with the different maps attached.

I'm working on it, currently making a test for the weathering style I'm going for. Might post a render later today depending on my progress :(

I've been working on the style of the weathering on and off for the last few days. Currently I've done the propeller blades, cowling, cowling flaps and the exhaust stains on the fuselage and gear door.
