The way it says "crushing of the NDA" I think it means the NDA is lifted, but yes, a clearer statement would be nice.

"Official" NDA is lifted would be nice... but then again, the "crushing of the NDA" and them TELLING us to post vids/screen shots is pretty much a dead give-away in my book that the NDA is out the window finally...

Just my take on it though...

Damn! I just killed an Atlas yesterday with my Commando with just a small laser, because i was out of srm ammo and the only one left in my team so i was all on my own! It took about 2 minutes and was so epic, if i just had a video of it ;(

After last time, where you claimed you could avoid being hit by my atlas and then seemed to go into denial about it when reality proved otherwise - I don't believe this either ;)

And plus I soloed 5 of the 8, where if you managed it you probably just stole the kills :)

Well you win on that one, I only soloed 4 of the 8. :)

Thank you developer's and administration alike, this is great news for the MWO community, we have been dieing to tease those outside of the closed beta. This will certainly drum up some fan-fair for sure.

Happy Games, and may the odds ever be in your favor!

Looks like ceiling-mech will be unemployed and will have to get a job working some other BETA elsewhere. Damn shame really. The poor guy has an Urbanmech and some Elementals to support. Damn you PGI! Don't you have a heart?

The moment has come, way earlier than I expected. The game is under the remorseless scrutiny of internet proper now.

Here's hoping those opinions will be a breath of fresh, outside air that'll clear the atmosphere a bit and promote beneficial changes.

Even more hoping this isn't a false start.

Have to agree with the chaps wanting more confirmation - I'd like to be able to write about my beta experiences, but I won't be risking it until I see a post outlining exactly what is and isn't acceptable.

A full, detailed response, something along the lines of 'yes, the NDA is lifted, it is now ok to write about in public forums and/or commercial sites, post pictures, videos etc' would be greatly appreciated.

Wow - it seems a bit early to lift the NDA considering the current features that are missing ... maybe they planned it for after the patch that was delayed a week?

Anyway, someone should transfer some of the main sticky and issue threads from the beta forums to the main forums including the list of features remaining and the timeline.

Here are some items in particular ...

- graphics and game play are generally good - low end systems may have issues
- economy may need some additional tweaking
- weapon balance and heat may need some tweaking
- MATCH-making would appear to still be an alpha version - there is no lobby or front end - premade groups are possible but they often drop against random groups unless they join out of game efforts to try to launch at the same time - premades are organized on a 3rd party TS server generally
- maps are random so selecting mechs to fit maps isn't an option
- there are only 4 maps with one version each though a total 6 and some alternates of the existing maps are planned in the next couple of months
- the TRIAL mechs available to players who are just starting and do not purchase MC to buy customizable mechs do not generally have a good balance of heat for their weapons - this makes them harder to play ... though they are playable with a little experience
- there is no tutorial or other in-game method of learning the controls except reading the forums and joining a match
- there are bugs though not necessarily that frequent in my experience - some could be "features" - e.g. internal damage without armor being breached (this is a possibility in TT so it may be intended).
- ECM, BAP are not yet in
- Jump jets still need to be fixed (the number of them equipped has no impact on performace - so fitting one is sufficient at the moment)
- it will take on the order of 30 matches in trial mechs for a player to earn enough cbills for a light mech

The game has huge potential ... it is a fun, generally fast paced, team mech combat game ... many of the above issues should be fixed prior to release/open beta ... but who knows for sure ... which is why it seems a bit early to lift the NDA to me. ;)
