HAWKEN is a good game, great visual style, great designs and so forth. But ultimately I think they intergrated too much of the FPS style in the game causing the play style to deviate from traditional mech games.

The respawn feels waaaayyyyyyyyy..... too much like Mordern Warfare games where you choose your weapon loadout after death ( Note : I avoid using MW because some might read it as Mech Warrior instead of Modern Warfare ).

I played the closed beta for 6 mins , then I promptly uninstalled the game and went back to playing some Modern Warfare 3.

These two games have nothing in common other then being PC games. Totally different.

The main appeal to Hawken is definitely the visual style. They simply have a better artistic vision. Everything from how the mechs look, to how they move, to how the weapons feel is perfect. They have a very strong team that will deliver a polished product.

The games are certainly different, but they will inevitably be compared. My guess is that Hawken will do extremely well at first, and garner the majority of critical acclaim. However, I don't think it has the longevity that MechWarrior Online will have if the developers deliver on all their community features.

Hawken is completely different game play than MWO. Is like comparing apples to oranges...

I been in both beta and they are completely different games.

Mechwarrior Online appeals to those die hard fans from the 80s and 90s BattleTech so those people are ages 20+. The population in this game are older so that = more disposable income from players.

HAWKEN and MWO are COMPLETELY different beasts.

Both are games, yes.
But HAWKEN is a game and MWO is more aimed as a simulator.

Playing HAWKEN you feel like you ARE the mech, screaming around at light speed. It just like CoD but your in a mech. You could change the mech models for humans with guns and a jetpack and it wouldnt feel ANY different at all.

Playing MWO you feel like you ARE THE PILOT IN A MECH, not the mech itself... which i perfer greatly. MWO is aimed to be a BattleMech simulator like every other MechWarrior title and it achieves that.

They may be both mech games... but theyre apples and oranges, chalk and cheese.
Not comparable.
