Best Mechwarrior you played?



For me its MWO hands down!

Congrats PGI, fun game, great simulation!

For you out there, don't listen to ppl moaning about money.
You don't need it - play.
Just take your time.

"Best" is such a relative term. MW2 will always have a special place in my heart for introducing me to the series, but MWO is easily the best multiplayer experience I've had with MW.

Best Single Player- Tossup between Mechwarrior 2: Mercs, Mechwarrior 3 and Mechwarrior 4 Mercs.

Best Multiplayer: Mechwarrior: Online

Best overall: Mechwarrior as a whole.

Well MWO is pretty good. In the past I really enjoyed the infocom game "The Crescent Hawks Revenge". I played it several times and had a lot of fun with it. (Of course the Mechwarrior Titles were also fine)

I played MechWarrior 4 and recently the unofficial MegaMek. Both games are time killing.
Else i play the wizkids tabletop since 1 year which makes much fun too (of course more fun when dices show high numbers )

MW:Online will replace MW 4 as the best MechWarrior.

Any one that lets me mount Clan SRM Infernos >:} Ghost Bear Legacy will always hold a special place for me.

It has to be Battletech: The Crescent Hawks Inception. One of the first mech type games I ever played, way back when on my C64.

MWO and MW3 are tied for me. I love the return of the high skill cap that rewards talented play.

MW2 was fun but simplistic and MW4 did too much hand holding.

I'd have to say Mechwarrior 3 was the overall most polished and deep game. MW4 was stained by how it restricted hardpoints. MW2 and before simply didn't have the graphical capabilities, although at the time they were pretty good.

Best singleplayer: MechWarrior 4 Mercenaries

Best multiplayer: MechWarrior Living Legends. I've played MWLL nearly continuously for 3 years. Nothing else (aside from Garry's Mod) has held my attention for that long.

As far as singleplayer goes, I'm gonna have to go with MW2 for its campaigns (including GBL and Mercs), and MW3 for the 'feel' of the 'Mechs and everything else.

However, MW:O so far offers the best multiplayer MechWarrior experience. Or, it will, once things have been tweaked and balanced to the best they can be.

Pretty sure i've played most of the PC games, Mechwarrior 1, 2, 3, 4 and the 'Merc' Variants aswell, i also even played battletech crescent hawk's inception. By Far MWO is superior to anything i've seen yet.

When I got to the end of that game and found the star league cache, I was soooooo pissd that I couldn't use the pheonix hawk in game. Other than that, I loved the game. Wasted many hours in the arena. That was more a battletech title, however. Not really a mechwarrior title. The mechwarrior games have always been about being in the cockpit and piloting the mechs. So I would have to say that my favorite mechwarrior title to date would be MW3 and its expansions. But it just barely beats out MW2.

I can't count mwo since it's still beta and all we have access to right now is team death match...fun? Of course it is, I get to meet all kinds of people and shoot their arms off.

But hands down I loved Mechwarrior 3. 2 was great too but it looked horrible for me playing with an onboard graphics card and I'm not talking about the playstation version. I mean c'mon, you could step on people in the third one!
