I know this should technically reside in the hardware forums, as it's about a piece of hardware, sort of, but it doesn't belong with the people measuring epeen of PC specs. ^^

Check this out.

For what it is it seems very reasonably priced, considering the fact it actually works.

I'm wondering how effective and how useful the community thinks it could be.

Read the reviews this thing takes 10 min to put on 10 min to take off and after a month most people still can barely use it. I was considering it, why I went and looked at reviews :P

Absolutely amazing concept and its really cool that they actually have something available for public use finally, however as CoffiNail mentioned it still has some issues and sounds like it could be difficult to actually make reasonably functional.

At the same time it fits perfectly within the BT universe and despite the issues mentioned still very tempted to try it out all the same lol.

It's nice to see a company pushing a functional device to the consumer market, should stimulate interest and therefore more research and development, and a better product. Basically, we're getting there people, slowly but surely... :P

That is one of three consumer EEG offerings that I've seen. It is the most involved to put on, but probably also yields more useful output than the other 2. I saw somewhere that a guy had combined all three offerings together, hooking each instrument to a different computer to do interesting (to him) things.

It's nice to see the sensors, etc. getting more affordable. Long ways to go on software doing useful things with it though.

Ya know, there seems to be a Neuro HUD and incockpit view..... in MWO. Using a Hatswitch OR TrackIR to look around the incockpit view will go a long way into making peeps FEEL like they are wearing a Neuro helmet. And that`s good enough for me. ;p

The headset on the link IS cool, nonetheless.

I have access to these headsets at work. They aren't terribly effective. You can move an object around in a scene by thinking about it really hard. However the better use is sensing general mood and adjusting game difficulty on the fly.

I actually own one of these. Once you are used to it and have it set up for what you want it is great. One drawback though is if you play with headphones your out of luck. It's either the headset or the headphones.

For MW4 I can use the built in gyro feature to control my torso twist and tilt up/down.

one lithium battery = 12 hours of use. We would all need our own personal lithium battery warehouses!!!

Neurohelmets are a lot more complex than this and not only do they read brain activity, they transmit data into the brain, which the epoc and such don't do.

It would totally rock if these could emulate the function of the neurohelmets, but they just can't.

This is pretty cool but for actual game usage it would require actual integration by the devs. I reckon in 20 years or so this may be the standard for controlling stuff but this sort of tech needs a lot of refining.

give that tech 50 years or so of continual development and it'll be cheap, effective, light and brilliant.
Just like anything else thts very new tech..difficult, awkward and apain..but its new and can only go up
