I like the way the game is coming along, but I would like to see some good joystick support.

So, let's talk immersion.

i have to say that taking damage feels far more realistic to me than it did in previous mech warrior games hardly touched mech assault though but it still lacks the right sound in case of weapon sounds and the cockpit i fully agree with you guys especially the reload sound (really liked the hum of a reloaded ppc in mw 4 ) the effects could also be better considering the possibilitys of the engine and destroyable enviroment is a must (especially since it was planned since and shown in the first trailer) building the mechs interior parts for graphics sake would add more kick to the game and the computer voice is a must have for mech warriors some of this things should have been there before beta but i also understand its a pain to get it all right so i prefer the devs taking their time instead of adding half baked stuff the thing that bothers me the most atm is the fire delay in ballistics and the bugged y axis on my stick (not sure if im the only one having that problem though) the game could be far better right now but i also like it as is while waiting for the devs to implement the features but since it is a FTP there are things i can fathom although i would like to see MWO at least top its predecessors so keep it it up dear devs ;-)

I really don't think anything needs doing with the cockpit at all, i like being able to see and don't need it filled with crap. Nor do i think any computer voices should be added. For visuals i would at least like some basic things. Trees breaking, cars being crushed, small fences and gates being crushed. As much as i would love to see full building destruction its probably not all that easy to do.
Since the cry engine update the frozen city map has looked amazing and is pretty damn visiualy immersive.

There's nothing leading into each match, and the mechbay quite naturally feels like a computer interface - For me there's no immersing before the battle starts.
So community warfare is where the game's immersion factor is going to really go up, for me, I expect.
Sound and graphics play a part, and I'm especially looking forward to voices, but they aren't as important as storyline and characterisation when it comes to immersing me.
Basically at the moment it seems like I am noone, nowhere, and fighting other noones for nothing other than improving my mechs.
The game is still very fun with some nice teamplay and silly banter, and even pugging has loads of life before it gets repetitive.
And of course competitive games don't need to be so immersive to be commericially viable - It's not like I'd consider stopping playing until community warfare is in, the game is too good.
