Yep. It's especially cool when the Devs join the irc channel and we can chat with them live.

I just want to add my thanks as well. I know there are things about the game I'm not going to like and I'm definately going to hate that I have so little time to play that I'm probably going to miss out on alot of big events. But I am very stoked about this game and I'm going to enjoy it all because the devs really have put out the effort to engage the community and embrace the history.

Good Luck, i can't wait.

KUDOS!!! Frankly even if the game is only ok (which it won't be), I've been enjoying the hype so much I've been giggling like a kid.

If what you saw in the gameplay videos looks fun, you should be happy

Completely agree with the OP, PGI's interactivity with the comunity has been awesome!!
Love the concept of the game and it's business model! I hope we're on the verge of a new era in game development where we as fans pay the developers in a more direct manner (another interesting example is Wasteland 2, which is a kickstarter project: http://www.kickstart...land-2?ref=live ).

Going from dusting off MW3/4 and mechcommander1/2 everynow and then, started playing MWLL, and now this!! What's been released so far about the game exceeds my wildest dreams!!

I'm glad that we've got a dedicated group of folks who love the series and IP enough to make it as true as possible to what it means to be a Mechwarrior game. I've got to tell you, I was worried we would never see a Mechwarrior game ever again. It seemed Microsoft had forgotten about the series entirely, or that if we did get another game, it certainly wouldn't be a Mechwarrior game.

I love that PGI and IGP have been so open with us and the development process. Often, we find ourselves getting information (that we likely didn't deserve), bringing up questions and concerns, and usually, the VERY same day we discovered that information, we get a developer response explaining it down to each detail. For example, when we discovered (from some article) that we were going to have separate arm and torso reticules, I believe it was Bryan who, the very same day, came in and answered basically every question we had about it.

Not only does this awesome service put us at ease and make us more excited about the game, it makes us feel like we know you guys on a more personal level. I'd drink a beer with you folks any day of the week.

As someone who's been very critical of another developer over things they've done all I can say is yeah we can be that way. Some of us are better spoken than others, but in the end we as a group which includes the Devs love what we are doing.

My hope is that you don't go down the road of another Developer and do and say things you have little intent to follow up on. If you don't then I personally think everything is going to be fine.

All in all I am proud to be part of "your" community, and I want to have you as part of "mine"

Yup. Looks fantastic, Garth. I agree with mr Zonke who said that MWO "exceeds my wildest dreams!!". It really does and we've dreamed *alot* about BT and MW.

But that's "minimum viable product"! Imagine how much greater it will be a couple of years down the road after you guys get passed the balancing and bug issues and been able to implement some of your big plans.

<shakes head> It's still seems like a little unreal to me. just awesome

I'm super protective of you guys. When we call you 'our community', we mean it.

Also, thank you for the praise. I'll pass the link to this thread around.

It might be difficult to imagine, but making games can be incredibly hard when the people who are supposed to be your fans just complain and poke holes into everything you release.

We're all MechWarriors here.

I have to say, everything I've seen about the game so far has given me great optimism, and I tend to be a bit skeptical/devil's advocate when it comes to features and balance and etc. etc. The interest and participation in user threads by PGI staff has also been very heartening.

As for the complaining and criticizing, well, I'm sure any of us who've played a few online titles have seen plenty of it... and probably contributed a bit. The internet is a pretty nasty snakepit of bad manners, abuse of anonymity, and misanthropic narcissism, and the gamer audience seems pretty much used to being offered the world, and certainly plenty of ego-stroking. With a real range of player backgrounds coming in here, from the TT gamers, the MW2/3 crowd, and people who've only had experience with MW4, MWLL, or Mechassault, the PGI team seems to be striking a good balance of giving things everyone can enjoy, while at the same time holding on to their own vision of how the game should play. I hope they can continue to hold to that once the powergamers come through and go for broke trying to break and exploit every mechanic and tactic possible.

I've also been pretty impressed by the community moderation. It seems restrained enough not to be Banhamma City, but dead/trolly/spammy topics get cleaned up quickly, and while the community gets a little feisty with each other here and there, it's so far stayed pretty "clean". I can always appreciate subtle orchestration, so hat's off to the moderator team, as well!

Much love to the PGI crew for making this happen and to the community mods who keep all of us in line.

I have never felt like I was really part of something this big before joining the MWO community. You guys really have made this worth it and the game hasn't even come out yet. And yes, I am one of those guys who checks the site every day for the ISN updates. Love those.

Just remember, if you screw this up there will be blood no matter what happens, you have made each and every one of us CBT guys proud with your attention to detail, dedication and resolve. For too long have we waited for a developer to recognize the univers that we all love and attempt to bring it into a digital format that holds true to the spirit of Classic BattleTech.

Also, **** Dark Ages.
