given you can facehug your target and he's smart enough to hug your SRM6 build. that just works with pubbies maybe.

I run a similar build but using AC/20 instead. The ballistic alpha is through the roof double UAC/5 gives you a bit more range to play in though, I'll try it out I think.

This is surprisingly easy.. firing the ML at 300-ish meters makes you look like a rookie and hostiles go in close to dodge the ac/10 and lrm silly people

right now I have 4 DDC in the garage.
all have 4 mods: targeting, retention, 360, and either zoom or info
all have ecm, ams w/ 1 ammo, double heat sink, and artimus, and 1 or 2 case
all have heat eff in the 1.32+ range
Firepower ranges from 45 to 75
My favorite one is the first listed. drives over speed 60, and has both the LL's and AC 10 for medium range, and SRM's for a short range kick.
if you want to start testing atlas configs. get an XL300 and regular 245 engine and play around with that. Then work your way into regular 300 and XL350
The key is with double heat sinks and trying to get 2 to 4 of them inside the engine. reduce leg armor 3 each to get the armor on an even weight number. The best configurations have 0 to 2 free slots.
2 LL
3 SRM6A 3 ammo
AC10 2 ammo
17 heat sinks
350XL engine
2 ML
3 SRM6A 3 ammo
AC20 3 ammo
17 heat sinks
300 engine
2 LL
3 SRM2-STREAK 2 ammo
AC10 3 ammo
16 heat sinks
360XL engine
command mod
probe
2 ML
3 LRM15A 1980 ammo (like 7 slots?)
2 machine gun
275 engine
16 heat sinks
probe

STD 360
Endo
3 srm 6 -4 tons ammo
ac20 5 tons ammo
2mlas
Case both chests
Armor 592 (only reduced in legs)
ecm
Does 64.2 with tweak. Great brawler. Gets in where i need to do damage, maneuverability helps a lot.

I usually run:
ac-20
3xSRM-6
2xMedPulse
Yes, this is for pugging only, but that is what I am doing 99% of the time.

3 SRM6
2 LB10X
2 ML
Full on shotgun build.

1xAC/20 (8 tons ammo)
2xSRM-6 (2 tons ammo)
4xMLAS (no ammo ofc)
Engine: Standard 300
Heat Sinks: Pile them on after you put on aforementioned equipment.
Usually get top of the scoreboard with this build, very high alpha damage and good overall heat efficiency so you can keep firing the AC/20 and SRM-6, with a MLAS blast every once in a while to finish a component.

Obviously just my opinion, but an XL engine in a brawler is really asking for trouble. And you may consider ditching that case, if you smart with your ammo placement there is little need for it.
Also really consider artemis on your SRMs. After the last patch artemis has really improved the precision of SRM fire, the focused nature is great.
Also consider the DDC, and drop the AMS.

After I decided to try ECM I bought back my D-DC, and that config is still very viable, and also can be setup to handle itself quite nicely against anything on the map.
All you have to do is get within range so the weapon setup you're running can do damage, I can't tell you how many times I have surprised a Cataphract with 3 PPC weapons, and then watched him go all kinds of crazy trying to stay alive (priceless).
Atlas D-DC combo that I see used is as follows..
2 ER-LLasers
3 SRM4
1 Gauss
EDIT: (NO XL ENGINE) never run them in an Atlas, it is asking for a "KaBoom"
The Atlas lost some of it's advantages, but not the Armor, no biggy

Most builds I've seen run AC20 or 2xUAC5 in the ballistic slot (some ppl also swear by the 2xLBX), MLas/MPLas/LLas in the laser slots, and 3xSRM6/3xSRM6+A/3xSRM4+A in the missile slot.
One thing you need is a really good engine. Like a STD350 if you can get one. Big engine = more heatsinks, more mobility, nasty surprise for anyone who thinks they can circle you.
