they aren't 100% sticking to canon and I imagine they won't stick 100% to the timeline either....simply because translating the spirit of this game into a mechanically functional (and much less buggy) and balanced gameplay experience will take longer than people think.

Not saying they aren't considering the canon timeline and trying to stick to it but I doubt they feel absolutely limited by it.

I doubt the devs will add a mech with 1 variant.

Unless otherwise indicated, 270 SFE, jump 3/3, basically capped armour, 13 SHS.
HGN-732: Also has ferro and case, but only 12 SHS.
2 MLas, SRM-6, LRM-20, Gauss.
Ammo: SRM 2; LRM 2; Gauss 2.

HGN-733:
2 MLas, SRM-6, LRM-20, AC/10
Ammo: SRM 2; LRM 3; AC/10 2.

I'm aware....but these kinds of comments have been going on for several months...people routinely pointing to canon/lore as limiting factors (implied or outright) when the fact of the matter is, PGI has the freedom to tinker with the IP somewhat clearly and doubt they go 100% according to timeline simply because they don't go 100% according to canon on many things. No biggie. Just saying we shouldn't get wrapped around the axle about the minor changes they may have to make to get the game rolling properly and to eventually balance things.

hell the invasion could come right on time...doesn't mean we're going to be piloting clan tech anytime soon however...could just be an invasion via comstar reports and nothing else that impacts our part of the community warfare.

If they keep to their pattern of light, medium, heavy, assault... I would expect the trebuchet to be upcoming. I guess only time will tell what they truly plan to do.
