For more on this story, feel free to read up on the situation leading up to Operation Rosebud. The founding of the FRR also takes place during the events of the novel Heir to the Dragon.

Happy birthday FRR. Enjoy full mead rations while you can, war is close and with it comes poverty and misery. ;)

FRR festivities... somehow the image of bearded men throwing mead barrels, axes, pigtailed blond women and whole roast pigs around a longhouse while singing gaudily comes to my mind. Oh, yes, and don't forget the horned helmets... and lots of mead barrels, did I mention those already? ;)

And they wear fur with armor...oh, and songs, lots of them. :)

As for the mead, current FRR is driven by this motto: "There are some things money cannot buy, for everything else, there is mead."

Yeah, true enough. I like the FRR and all, considering I'm so close to the border. While it helps that I have less Dragon raids to worry about hitting the Isle of Skye, that also means I have less Dragons to shoot at. Border raids were such fun. Oh, well, maybe I'll get a temporary transfer to the Suns side of the FedCom to get some target practice in.

Nice Coffin, though i think it would have been funnier if you had left the Ghost Bear logo off

I think it's a bit early to celebrate in a big way. We have to win some real battles first.

This is honest a question I want an answer to...what if the FRR does better in battles against the clans then in the current fiction? Hell, what happens if the Lyrans and Dracs do WORSE? Will they force border lines on us or will the players have more control?

Pretty sure it will all roll out more or less how the fiction does. They are giving such minor fluff it seems they will adhere to the way the universe plays out pretty well.

We did win some real battles, in the first years of our founding no less. Ronin Wars were real. Not too shabby of a showing for a newly created nation.

Now, if only Mansdottr had won the election instead of Magnusson, then our military wouldn't have been kept small so as not to antagonize the Combine or the Commonwealth.

Anyway, it's just so tragic that the FRR only gets 15-16 years of freedom, after struggling for centuries. Everyone loves a tragic hero though, and this time, we will prevail! :(
