Berserker BRZ-C3 is the closest I can come to a perfect 'mech.

I'll take a stab at answering that. That "thing" is called a Hellstar. It is a standard (not an omni-mech) co-devolped by Clan Wolf-In-Exile and Clan Hells Horses during the Word of Blake Jihad Era. It was built exsclusively for long running engangements away from supply lines and all three versions of it mount energy weapons exsclusively.

The Hellstar has 4 clan ER PPCs and 30 double heat sinks, allowing it to sink all of the heat generated by all of the ER PPCs. "If you AREN'T alpha striking in a Hellstar you are doing it wrong!"

The Hellstar 2 removes 5 of the double heatsinks in order to fit a targeting computer in to make the PPC shots more accurate. The down side to this version is you have to volley fire or you will overheat and quick.

The Hellstar 3 retains the targeting computer but rips out all four PPCs and two more double heat sinks to mount 4 Clan ER Large Lasers, 2 Clan Medium Pulse Lasers, an active probe and an ECM Suite.

All three variants are pretty fast for a 95 ton 'mech too.

Thanks!

The Cronus CNS-3M version looks like it was in production in 3031. I believe stealth and detection systems will be handled by modules rather than equipment. So at 55 tons, 10.5 tons of armor 86kph with 150m jump. 1x Lg Laser, 3x Md Laser, 1x SRM/4, this looks like a winner (if it is included in the game). Other mechs I looked at tend to forgo jump jets in favor of armor or vice versa.

This looks like a very nice I.S. design. I would also consider the Exterminator in the heavy bracket. My opinion of a perfect mech is capable in all aspects to handle all situations. Of course this is only my opinion. Ill probably be piloting a heavy medium or light heavy (55-60 tons). These to weight groups have some of the best mechs with alot of capability.

I tend to think about weapon loadouts more than specific mechs. For instance, in an urban environment, I like to have a fast medium or well-armored light mounting a Rotary AC along with some kind of larger slug-thrower. Use the rotary for aiming verification before slamming them with a Gauss Rifle or AC20.

Beyond that.... jumpy Catapult, with as many LRMs as I can mount on it. And, depending on era, a Narc launcher.

Granted, it doesn't get much more fun than vaporizing something on the horizon with an alpha-strike from a Masakari.

I think there is no such thing as a perfect Mech by itself. There might be a perfect mech for your playstyle. There are well rounded mechs that can deal with threats at any range that also have good armor and mobility... but I always feel they end up being under gunned. The prime example of this in my opinion is a mech like the 3025 Shadowhawk.

Sure, you may be able to pack the Shadowhawk stuffed full of new tech to add in more weapons, but it can be argued that this is all well and good till you get critted because every crit space might be packed with something. Any location might end up being a devastating crit.

For me, nothing is scarier for its weight (and its place in the timeline) than the Vulture. Every configuration is nasty is its own right, but the Prime is the one that gives me nightmares. The combination of long range and speed makes them lethal from a distance, yet they're even more dangerous at close range; between the Missiles and the Pulse Lasers, it feels like they just don't miss. There are Assault Mechs that I'd rather encounter on the battlefield, and the Vulture only just qualifies as a Heavy.

Atlas Master and Commander config.

19 tons heavy armor, guass rifle and lrm 20 and 2 med lasers in torsos, large laser on each arm.

modules c3 master, artillery caller, 7x zoom, bap and ecm if theres room.

with the zoom and 700m weapons (note these are what the game currently has supported in 3049, er **** aint for years yet) it can reach out and accurately ***** slap for support while using the scouts c3 slave units to know whats where, when you hide in a camping spot and the scouts find you , down comes the artillery rain.

for city fighting it goes back into ac 20 srm 6 med lasers mode, with magnet vision (so you cant hide behind buildings without me seeing you anyway sucka) ecm arty calling (because if you really wanna play ring around the stupid building, ill just shell you into a ******* hole)

For me, the perfect scout is a raven, the perfect anti-scout is a wolfhound, the perfect general purpose mech of the line is a Timber Wolf (it can carry a fantastic mix of weapons, can move fast, can have jumpjets and all of the toys, and is decently armoured). the perfect command mech is the cyclops, the perfect direct fire support mech is the awesome, the perfect urban combat mech is the axman, the perfect indirect fire mech is the archer..........

The point is, different mech, different role. Then theres pilot preference- some scouts will scout better in a raven, others will perform better in a jenner, etc. Then theres also the fact it depends on what mechs your working alongside- An Catapult may be a great fire support mech, but if you already have a timber wolf, an awesome and a cyclops in the lance, do you really need more fire support/missiles?

You have a nearly perfect mech when you hardly can made it better.
Second indicator is the ability to be almost every situation on almost every terrain.
So we have the Falconer.
Why not the Thor? - well you can made it better

theres probably as many perfect mechs as there are prefered play styles. you want to be able to soak up damage while you unleash or are you more of a hit and run guy. you want a speedy mech with one long range or you like to zoom in, you want to build a mech that will always be part of a group or are you mostly lone wolf style?

so no there is no 1 perfect mech, its always a matter of the pilot behind the controls.

yes. it is called the summoner. - Cik

And Hellbringer too. These two designs are two of the most ballanced ones for sure.

Somehow I'd throw the Timber Wolf in there too... :(

Not sure if I'll ever figure out why I love the Sagittaire - it's just so far off from my usual style... But damn, is it a great 'Mech - GDL Irishwarrior

It’s gotta be the design. It looks awesome.

I love assaults too ya know… Atlas is one of my all-time favorites, but to me, the best cockpit to be in would be SHP-X4 Omega’s.

Can your Sagittaire beat this Irishwarrior? ;)

P.S.
I know it's off-topic but what the heck...

Hellbringer is far from perfect. Paper thin armor and horrid heat control on most variants.
Timber Wolf in other hand is a decent mech.

I'd call "perfect" mech per role, not in grand standards. But for me, I would pick Phoenix Hawk as personal favorite.

Anything that moves fast and uses stealth and have long range weapons and enough ammunition can beat this thing

Depends on which era and what medium.
Table top 3025 - Awesome is unstoppable firing 5 PPC's every 2 rounds without much heat build up. Massive amount of armour. No ammo explosions :( Jenner is also a kick arse machine.

I am hoping that both are used in MWO and PPC's hurt as bad as they do on the board game, not like in MW2 where everyone with JJ's can just dodge them ;)

Well, Sarna doesn't have the loadout of that thing, but looking at it I'm thinking two gauss rifles, a pair of autcannons (likely small-caliber due to the weight restrictions created by the gauss weapons), and a laser or PPC on top (I'm guessing a laser). Since that makes it a mid- to long-range 'Mech, I'm gonna say that the Sagittaire (A mid- to short-range design) can beat it if it gets up close. Also, 95 tons of Death From Above ;)

If you mean artwork, well, I think it's at least a tie...
