So i was cleaning up our attic and i found all the old games of my mum. Between Stuff like AoE 1/2 gold edition, Quake 2 with mission packs and the first 2 doom games i found this:
Earthsiege 2. That game is older than me, still it was a large part of my childhood. I remember playing it when i was 5 or 6 and it was awesome. Now, i want to play it again, but does it run on win7 ? And is there someone around who remembers that/still plays it ?

Earthsiege 2...my first legitimate mecha combat game. Good memories.
No idea whether it'll run on win7; we had an ancient PC running '98 that I played old games on all the time.
Ah man, flying the Razor with 2 plasma cannons: the very definition of close air support.

I could never really get into earthseige. It just felt kinda clunky compared to wechwarrior 2 (released the same year) I always thought it was funny that they shared its sound assets with Missionforce Cyberstorm. Now that game I loved.

If i compare the old mechwarrior games to Earthsiege, i like earthsiege more. I don´t like the thought of mechs with axes and the like ( Hatchetman) in their hands, mechs have to be big, slow and full of guns.

With the distinct disadvantage of not leaving much for salvage.
Granted... in the later missions you didn't care that much anymore, anyway
@OP: I HEARD that it should run in DosBox.
Might be worth a try (since it's free)
P.S. what was the name of the "light" starter HERC? The one with only 3 weapon mounts?
Anyone have a picture?

I finally found it.
It's called outlaw.
How could I ever forget that?
There was a Raptor, too, I think... but it was a tad heavier.

Though, the Roadrunner also fits that description (light starter HERC with three hardpoints)...
EarthSiege HERCs
Roadrunner
Outlaw

Oh god this game, Ogre ftw. 3 Plasma cannons.
Always thought the Colossus sucked massively.
I remember a weird glitch in the game where if you let too many things in your base die, the entire next mission would load up from the start as "Mission Failed" and the game was unplayable from there on in. Put it down and didn't pick it up until a few years ago. Man it's great.
