Problem is, while making 3D printed models of MWO designs is relatively easy (model files are easily accesible), 3D printing is still too expensive for making larger batches of minis.

There is a solution - you can print master based on MWO model, and then use it to make molds then used to make garage-kit runs. But sadly, skills needed to do things like that are far above those of typical player or amateur artist/painter.

Just a thought I had. Does anyone think TT BT need a bit of a makeover? Tweak weapons a bit lore ECT. Most weapons we have now days make BT weapons look inferior. An AC/20 in books I have read is 120mm and bigger. But they have a very short rang when compared to the 120mm of the M1 Abrams. Don’t get me wrong I love TT BT more than the MW games. You can do more like punch kick beat that mech to death with its own leg. But I feel that with the clans attacking in 3050 and its 3085 no real weapons upgrades have been given to the IS they have had clan tech for 35 years now. You think they would have come up with something that would make the clans cringe. Can’t they reverse engineer the weapons and armor so the FF and ES isn’t so bulky. Heck some of the clans have joined sides with the IS. You think they would help them by teaching the IS to make the lighter and more equipment. The jihad story line was ok but could have been better planed out and made more sense the Dark Age was just stupid.
What’s everyone’s thought?

Edited for spelling/ grammar {Godwin's Law}

Battletech is not the future. It is just the future of the 80s. And you have to play it from that perspective.

There is no way to change it that would not result in ruining the lore.

I see a lot of people complaining about play time, and a few mention people leaving to play warhammer. Unless you are playing with veterans warhammer takes hours and hours to play a good size game. With vets though the time is significantly reduced. Same with BT...

A pc version of tt bt would be great! 3d terrain and mechs, the computer could do all the math for calculating hits, location, crits, mods etc. it would speed things up greatly. All the record keeping keep accuratly it would keep people honest too.

If some of you are worried about playing time You might want to check out the new "Alpha Strike" Rules. Play a company sized game in the same amount of time as a lance sized game .

Never. Remaking the original TT is like making Mad Cat look like Black Jack. Just doesn't go. Although I would like it to be rereleased.

You want a rerelease of Battletech? DONE!

Are they the original Models without the stinking Redesigns? Cause the original models were the best IMO, and I never want to see that Project Pheonix Warhammer again in my life.

As of Unseens or Reseens - only reseen Battlemaster will be included. But I have good news - this guy:

Yet again avoided some stinking redesign.

I have to admit, years of other games and really nice computer models have made me look at the old TT models with some head-shaking. I don't really like the aesthetic of the game anymore. I'd love somebody to start making models based on the MOW models or even the Microsoft games. Especially the Jenner

I really can't get into TT anymore without playing Barbarella or Buck Rodgers in the background to get me in the retro-future mindset.

As for revamping the rules, I think we all have to accept that it would never work because there aren't enough players who would be willing to go with it. Maybe there are TT Nirvana out there somewhere, but most of my gaming groups would never be up to learning new rules just because that's all they'd be doing with their precious gaming time. I can't even get Flames of War or Malifaux started.

Ignorant old warriors - calling the new time frame a abdomination - and using in the same sentence the clans? Or did i misread something?

You are not fixed to any time line - thats the great for BattleTech - you can play any battle from 2490 to 3145 - and because you have this freedom the real abdomination is to say that any of this is more valuable as another.

I for my part - like the new options of 3145 - as well as the purifing of the Inner Sphere (and that is not a problem of catalyst game labs its the problem of the good old FASA - but of course ignorant old warriors fail to see that) - catalyst did the best possible to make a "could" be time line - that makes Wizkids dead born Click Teck Warrior as valid as the Star League Era.

- Although after reading through era report 3145 i always looked for the phrase "there is only war"
