Mr. Ledoux Sir! (Assuming it is the genuine article.) Good to see you around the boards.

Yep, it's really me.

There have actually been quite a few threads referring to your portrayal of Duncan Fisher in MW4 Mercs and I'm not ashamed to say I played the Solaris Matches backwards and forwards in every possible combination(Including three full seasons of exhibition matches) to be certain I'd heard every good line you managed to "Kapow" the fans with.

Well you can thank the MW: Mercs game designer, Ferret Beudoin for all those in-game lines. I did the voicing but Ferret put the words in my mouth.

Be aware "just in case you've been living under a rock" there is a definite conspiracy to get Piranha Games knocking on your door to get you involved in Mechwarrior Online. We're hoping they will throw work but not Harsh Language at the Showman, since weapons fire doesn't seem to do anything to him" except rachet up the play by play.

In the meantime we'll all be looking to catch the afterhours show, so be assured we'll "Stay tuned, Solaris Fans."

And thanks for a lot of fun memories as well.

Cheers.

You're very welcome, Rhinehart. I really do appreciate all the fan support that ol' Duncan has received over the years. Even the people who got REALLY sick of hearing him at least got a laugh out of the "Blooper" reels that are out there. LOL. I don't know if Duncan Fisher will return to MW or not but I still love the character, even though he knows a LOT more about MW and Battletech than George Ledoux could ever hope to.

And that tag line... DF is to MW like Chuck Norris is to the internet... Too Damn Funny. I'm gonna post that on my FB business page right now! :D

Yep, just had to have it in my signature.

Let's hope in the future we get to see Solaris VII and hear the great Duncan Fisher.

After reading this thread yesterday and hit up Youtube for yet another watch of the Duncan Fisher Blooper reel. Funny stuff.

Cheers Mr. Ledoux, and thanks for everything!

I've Been replaying MW 4 Mercinaries again, and the Solaris arena battles are probably my favorite part in no small part due to Duncan Fisher's commentary. That game is set in Era of the Fed-Com Civil War, thats what 3067, if hes 50 in 3067 it would mean he was born in 3017, if he retired from Solaris at 30 (thats very early I agree, but professional athletes "retire" by the time their 40) that would be 3047, which means that in 3049 he probably wouldnt be announcing.

If Solaris does make it into the game (post launch of course) it just wont be the same without him. Another thread mentioned a spectator mode to watch the games. I would really love to see the games broadcast, either on tv or on the net, and if they did that I think it would be great if the actor who played Duncan was hired to announce the games. I would watch it, infact, if it was a pay feature, I would pay to watch it. FASA broadcast matches like sporting events for a while a long time ago when MW 2 was out and I liked to watch the matches then too. I really think this could be like sports for gamers.

What say you mechwarrior fans, if Duncan Fisher was a sports announcer for broadcasts of MWO matches online would you pay $2.00 a month to see the matches?

As another way to make some money, if Piranha were to broadcast Solaris 7 games in some sort of streaming format, they could also sell advertising to raise some of the ready. I know we mostly hate commercials, but I'd watch and probably even sample some products for Duncan Fisher commentated Mech Mayhem.

But Mr. Ledoux, that might mean you'd have to bone up on the Mechwarrior stuff a bit. It be worth it to us if we could drag you back into the booth. ;)

That... and I'd go furthur...

To narrate custom videos and read off of a news anchor type script... Oh man, I'd pay some hard earned dollars for that sweet, sweet melodic baritone...

I can't help but comment on this thread a second because this is something I feel is worth commenting on. Gaming has many iconic characters like Laura croft or Master Chief, but how many of those characters would you actually recognize the face or the voice of. I am guessing that Halo fans would recognize the voice of Master Chief, and any Command and Conquer Fan would recognize the face or voice of leader of the brotherhood of N.O.D. the most iconic character in gaming history (I.M.P.O.) Kain, played by actor Joseph D Kucan.

If Mechwarrior has such a character it is Duncan fisher, voiced by actor George Ledoux (who incidentally voiced many of the lancemates as well as other characters in Mechwarrior 4 Mercinaries) I mentioned this in my last comment but I'll say it again, ive been playing threw MW 4 Mercenaries again and the Solaris competition is my favorite part of the game, I love the voice work of actor George Ledoux as Solaris announcer Duncan Fisher.

There is already a thread on the forums regarding a spectator mode for MWO and though Piranha has not yet announced that this feature will be a part of the game I for one would love to see it implimented. I would love to see an online (or televised G4?) MWO sports show featuring MWO's most entertaining matches of the day, or the week. If it were to happen and Ledoux was willing to reprise the role I would love to see Duncan Fisher announcing the games. I mentioned this before aswell, but this is a feature that if implimented well I would pay for.

Speak up Mechfan's If Piranha made a sportcast type internet show (1/2 an hour a night, or maybe 1/2 an hour a week?) featuring the days, or the weeks best matches, announced by George Ledoux would you pay a small monthly fee to tune in. I know I would.

Gotta say Duncan Fisher Kept the arena alive for me a LOT longer then it would have been otherwise. Never got sick of it. Then I herd him in MWLL and it was like catching up with an old friend. lol

I'm all for more Duncan Fisher!

You know, in 3049, Duncan Fisher was still IN the arena. I'd pay to fight him.

Face Duncan Fisher? Not if he had an Uziel with an AC-5! He'd pound me to scrap metal in...well it would take a while with just an AC 5 but heh no thanks. I'd love for an excuse to be made for Duncan Fisher (Voiced by George Ledoux) to be a part of MWO. I'd most of all like him back in the announcer's booth but hey I'll take what I can get. I still think the streaming web video idea might be a good way to go. I've Got to say, I've had my problems with EVE online but I love to tune in to their Web TV broadcasts of their game tournaments. They have sportscasters with full battle play by play and expert commentary and it is a blast. So sign me up again for more live Solaris action!

Loved the idea so much I submitted an 8 page proposal a few weeks ago. Given the proper tools by PGI, it could easily been implemented by the community, however, it would ,most likely, be a much better product if officially supported by PGI and IGP.

There are many in roads to be had with ESports and Streaming video, and I believe PGI could capitalize on it with MWO. Given smart, creative decisions in regards to Broadcast tools and recording, And given PGIs track record so far, I doubt there's much they couldn't do given enough time and money.

It's probably not of super high priority right now, but give PGI time to ship their baby and support it for awhile. I have a feeling we might see some small steps in that direction. People just need to support the game in its infancy if they want to see it grown up.

Cheers.
