I kept firing as the Atlas charged, throwing as many blasts from Morgana’s medium lasers as I could while still back pedaling. Then I saw it, finally a friendly blasting away at the monsters rear armor, it’s auto cannon digging into the Atlas’ already damaged left knee. I drew up Morgana’s large lasers, aiming low. The Atlas strained for balance, reaching out and grabbing Morgana’s right arm, tearing what little remained off as it fell. Between both Browcoat mechs and a lot of luck we severed the knee from the upper leg, causing the 100 ton behemoth to fall, landing face down in the mud. I moved up, placing Morgana’s foot on the back of the fallen Atlas’ head and fired off a few more blasts, daring it‘s pilot to so much as twitch.

“Define Operational sir.” I said over the PA. “Targeting been fired, I.F.F. is gone, Long Range sensors are gone, Com’s Gone. This thing just ripped my right arm off at the elbow, I have about fifty percent armor on the right side, looks like I’ve lost a few heat sinks as well.” I clicked off, checking screens and what I could see through the view ports.

“The main question’s I have sir are one: Do we let this sonofabitch live or should I keep pressing down? And two: Where the hell is every one else?”

Umbrias laughed, aware his PA was still broadcasting. "Let's find the antenna that's jamming comms and shut it down. As for him..."
He turned his back to the Atlas, "Give him the chance to eject. It'll be good salvage either way."
A thermal scan showed one small building shining like a bonfire. And another mech steaming toward the base.
"Raven hails to the north." The comms were still filled with static. He raised his left arm in a wave, "Raven to the patrol to the north..."
A brilliant beam of energy boiled the air as it ripped past.
"Contact! Medium mech from the north!" Umbrias ducked behind the radio building as he replied with his own laser. He didn't see if it hit, his focus was the power generator inside this building.
"C-1, take this building apart. I'll cover you."
"You don't suppose shouting our plan will tip him off?" Clearwater replied.
Umbrias broke cover at a dead run, "What plan?" Two more laser bolts lanced past as he zeroed in the LRM. He fired the cannon, armor shattering from a solid hit and loosed the missiles. "Centurion, Alpha Lima!"
Another salvo of lasers cut through the storm, one ripping into his right arm, another cutting through his right leg.
"Again with the warning lights!?" The autocannon wouldn't fire. He triggered the laser instead.

Ian glared at his radar display. It stubbornly refused to show anything but visual static, which matched the audio static in his headset. Sighing, he triggered the mike again. "DB-6 to any Browncoats, come in... Are ya readin' me? Send up a flare."

He muttered to himself. "Sure, the scout gets lost... they'll never let me live this down."

Cranking the Commando's throttle to the maximum, he headed off in what the compass assured him was the right direction. Peering intently through the rain-streaked canopy, Ian sought after any sign of the objective, enemy 'mechs, or even his fellow Browncoats. Suddenly, ahead and slightly to the left, he caught sight of a flash of iridescent red light... definitely not lightning, not even man-made. Laser fire, and that meant trouble. "An' where there's trouble, ye'll find the Cerberus... better go give 'em a hand."

Actuators complained as he pushed the scout 'mech to its limits, but Ian didn't worry; they'd handle the load just fine, his regimen of careful (some might say obsessive) maintenance made sure of that. Up ahead, he made out the shape of several buildings... a thought struck the MechWarrior, and he quickly flipped through his comm frequencies, noting the frequency and intensity of the squeals and hisses coming from the speakers. Hmm, broadband jammer - centered in th' middle o' the main comm bands - sideband intensity indicates th' jammer's in those buildings ahead.

Before he could narrow down the exact location, however, more laser fire lit up the night. In the brief but intense light, Ian could make out the silhouette of a 'mech. Centurion... none o' those on our side for this op. Quickly lining up the crosshairs, the merc let fly with SRMs and his own Medium Laser...

The warble of the missile warning alarm filled his ears again as the AL Centurion filled the air with liquid light. A salvo returned from Morgana as Cerberus 1 fired around the corner of the building he was kicking in.
Another red beam cut across his front, scouring armor away as a pair of missiles slammed into his left arm.
"Contact south!" Umbrias twisted and back pedaled. The newest mech was steaming at him fast, a light mech with the Browncoat Triangle painted squarely on it's chest.
Umbrias waved his left arm, the missile scored plate bearing his Triangle. "That one!" He fired a laser at the enemy mech.
The Commando ducked under a laser bolt. "Apologies C.O. When'd you get here?"
Umbrias flinched away as another laser impact boiled away the plating on his right shoulder. The LRMs flew in a blind snapshot as Umbrias kicked the throttle forward again, moving closer to the other Centurion in a closing arc and firing his laser as the LRM reloaded.
While watching the weapon arm follow him, Umbrias hoped their ally had moved to flank the laser boat menace chipping away at his thinning armor..

Fitting a biped into an 03 is easy if you lay it down on a sled. As an alternative, you can kneel it down in the shuttle bays or get one rigged to carry the 40 foot containers. I have plans for altering the container hard points into a mech sling.

"Sorry for the confusion," Ian said over the loudspeaker. "Had a bit of a brush wi' a wee lightnin' bolt on the drop... most o' my electronics are still scrambled." He lined up a shot on the other, non-Browncoat Centurion and let fly another volley of missiles before dodging behind a building. The enemy 'mechs return fire boiled away some of the plating on his left leg.

"I've got no IFF or radar, and most o' me sensors are down as well. I'm aimin' by guess and by golly here, since Mark One Optics aren't doin' much good in this sheep-drowner we're in!" As if to underscore the Skye-born MechWarriors comment, lightning crashed down nearby, bringing with it a double thunderclap. Fortunately, the impact seemed to startle the enemy Centurion pilot, and Ian used the distraction to cross behind the larger 'mech, torso twisted towards it. The Medium Laser scored a deep gouge down the center back armor, and he slammed the throttle in reverse while firing SRMs and began backing down the street behind the enemy.

The experienced eye of the scout quickly noted the blossoms of fire on the back of the enemy 'mech, disregarding those on the arms and legs - only two, but the first blew away the remaining center torso armor and the second hit in nearly the same spot. Ian was almost certain he'd seen the tell-tale green cloud of coolant blasting out of a damaged engine, but the rain washed it away before he could be certain. "YER MOTHER WAS A MARIK AND SHE NE'ER KNEW YER FATHER!! Turn, ye *******... Leave Um alone, let's play tag fer a bit, shall we?"

Ian watched for either a response from the enemy 'mech or for his weapons to cycle, whichever came first.

Warning lights wailed as the sound of shattering armor filled the cockpit. The other mech teetered as it tried to. Step back from the push, it's leg tangling in his own. Slowly it fell, another flash of laserlight billowing steam from behind.
The Centurion hit the mud hard, it's back in pile of discarded ammunition that began to detonate. Umbrias danced away and fired his laser into the mess, sheilding himself from the blast generated by half a ton of powder and HE cannonshells.
He didn't count on the reactor.
The fusion bomb planted at the heart of each mech blossomed in a mighty inferno of heat and light. The wave of energy threw him from his feet despite his fifty tons and every warning light the mech had began to flash. They all went dark frightening speed as the CN9-A slid to a halt.
The last illuminated display showed him a reactor glowing at 1500 degrees and hemmoraging coolant. One line of text remained on the readout; 'Critical Reactor Damage. Forced Shutdown Initiated'.
"So much for salvage..." Umbrias sighed to himself.
His radio crackled "Bebop to ground units, any ground units, please respond."
He lay still, watching the reactor heat slowly trickle away and started a diagnostic. Seemed a poor time but he needed to know if he would be able to restart the reactor at all. "Raven to Bebop..." Umbrias sighed, "Things got a mite interesting today. Prepare for salvage under fire."
His radio coughed back at him.
"Outlaw Star calling Cerberus patrol, respond with location and status, over."
Growling, Umbrias kicked the radio console, recoiling as it popped and fizzled, sparks flying from the device.
Overhead, the glow of engines pierced the storm and a blue sun flare erupted into life high above.
"...why can't things ever go smooth..." He sighed to himself. Reaching over, he gently flipped the switch on his emergency lights.

Umbrias sat on the long defunct holotable as he looked over the reports of the battle.
His Centurion had a fracture running the length of the reactor with part of a shattered armor plate welded into the fissure. And the 'spare' from the enemy Centurion was annihilated.
With a sigh, he moved on to the salvage list. A small smile tugged at his lips. He laid one finger on the pad. "Dibbs."

'One RVN-3X. Missing parts.'

The Serenity Bar/Main Hanger was loud. Voices rang out over the din of impact hammers and grinders. Everyone looked up as three gunshots cracked like lightning. Umbrias stood on the bar, pistol in hand. "Afternoon all. Glad I've got your attention." He holstered the gun and looked out over the crowd. "Seems we've got half an acre of you. All commin' for work. But we need a few sundries. We needs mechs to run. We need parts for 'em when things bust. We need ammo so the other fella goes bust before we do."
There was a muttering that swept through the room. Might have been agreement.
"Turns out..." Umbrias shouted a little louder, "There's an old Armored Reserve base just a short flight from here. Been fulla pirates and banditos for a short while now." With the press of a button, a massive holoscreen lit up behind the bar. On it, a map of the land around the base to the northwest.
"Tell is, there's still something worth takin'..." Those gathered seemed more interested now, "Something they hold over the locals. But the real secret is that these fellas haven't cracked the hangers of the base itself. The hangers. The bunkers. The tech buildings. All intact. They're living out of the barracks and the mess hall."
He let silence settle over the hall before he called out in a strong voice, "Who's commin' with me?"

Why thank you WalkingRaven, my this place is quite welcoming now! What say we sit back and shoot the breeze?

About the gorram Houses for a start, hell, I'm still finding it difficult to choose a faction. Perhaps I need to settle down and embrace the free life in the black?

My thoughts exactly. That's why we're all here. Everyone's got a place here, until they find a better one.
Or they turn on us. That'll get you a long walk out an airlock...

Captian, we may have a small problem regarding delta. As one of the members(Jonah Krieger) has been afk since the begining and i don't want us runnin' on a not full team. I tried connecting him but there were some probs in the website itself. Other than that were (near) fully operational.
