could be a few reasons.
-they were one of the first groups that showed up in the games. MW2
-if you were into reading. They were one of the more successful invading clans. (note the wolf spiders)
-had two of the more prominent mechs tagged to them (timber wolf, dire wolf)
-closest blood ties to the founding father.
-good invasion line as well.

if you wanted to add more. They were also one of the first to get omni-tech from clan coyote. In a way they were the center of the mech clan side universe, along side jade falcon, and when you didn't have much info you picked the one you liked more.

on another note its not surprising ghost bears is popular, they had an expansion in mw2 that was fun. or at least it thought it was.

If they are an option, I would go with the Snow Ravens, but as they never invaded, the Jade Falcons will need to be it.
(Yes, I know Roshak is a Falcon bloodname, I still like the Raven's more.)

My vote goes to Clan Nova Cat (my lovely Clan), however I would decide by available mechs which I would like to pilot. Maybe Jade Falcon because of the Black Lanner.

Shadow Cat > Black Lanner > Hellbringer > Nova Cat

I'd go for Jade Falcon.I like their balls out fighting style even if i don't like their choice of prefered Mechs.I'm very much a Timber Wolf pilot.

I support Clan Ghost Bear. I drifted though the universe after leaving the ComStar Guards. I had yet decided to create the DarkStar Alliance. Although I have always been Mercenary at heart I did find accommodations with the Ghost Bears for a short period. One Clan that wasn't optioned is the Snow Ravens of later lore. The Snow Ravens merged with the Outworlds Alliance. DSA was a member of the Alliance. Therefore, if I had my druthers the Snow Ravens would be my obvious Clan choice.

Actually sir I will have you know that the Wolves had developed the DireWolf up to 80% completion but about that time Clan Smoke Jaguar found out about their secret development of the mech and trialed them for the rights to it. Clan Smoke Jaguar won and was the clan to complete the design and then was the sole producer of it (with a minor exception being one Wolf factory on Strana Mechty was allowed to produce a small number every year) until 3060 when most of their designs were spread among the clans with their temporary set back.

Also...you mean they had the easiest invasion corridor, quiaff? FRR was great but they were nothing compared to the Military might an prowess of the DC or the military numbers and armor of the LC.

No it is not, we allowed the name to stay. We thought it more of an insult if the clan that made it, named it, but could not field it :D

It is only an insult if the party in question feels insulted. You completed it but it is called Dire Wolf. Yeah we feel SO insulted. :D

You are thinking like a freeborn, during the trials in the Homeworlds the Wolves howled for vengeance that their own machine was fielded against them, you guys were a mockery in the Grand Council. Leave your Inner Sphere ideals at the door, this is the Clans
