So kind of you to speak for ALL of us. Did I miss the poll that asked ALL of us?

Pretty sure that was sarcasm.

now im not saying that people in clans and groups are bad or anything, but im just worried that i will be discrimated on if im not in one, i want to play mercenery style, like i will help them team im on but i dont want to make like a commitment to a house or clan, sorry if i seem paranoid but im jsut wondering.

not at all, apparently you can go "lone wolf" style...which is partly appealing to me, i need to have more info before i decide what im going to do

It's not like being IN a clan, unit, group, etc. makes you a good player.

There may be a times when you can't get into a game if it is between two factions, but I'm sure no player will be sitting on a sideline too long waiting for a match.

Play the way you want to, you owe your allegence to your companions, if you betray those then thats when you will be looked upon as not being worthy, otherwise I wouldnt give a damn which house likes or dislikes you, they all hate eachother anyway so you wont be alone lol

I plan on going merc for at least the first six months after release. I don't care if anybody discrimates against me for whatever wierd reason because my additude will be as follows:

Dude i just saved: Thanks for pulling my but out of the fire, Spectre!
Me: Don't thank me thank the Commonality! Their foot in the bill!

cant always rely on your companions either, unfortunately when you need someone to watch your back ..theyre too busy saving their own skin and youre secondary. Be a good ally but remember to not rely on them to get you out of a scrape and you'll be fine and if they dump on you, make a note of it for your future reference

Really have to wonder why people have such a hard time understanding what's the basic concept behind a team-based game, sheesh. :D Apart from the odd sociopath out, who probably isn't fit for anything that involves more than his personal ego, of course.

I don't think it has anything to do with understanding the concept behind a team based game. They just might not see a reason to have to join the Wolf's Dragoons or the Draconis Combine in order to participate in said team based game.

And they shouldn't have to either.

As long as they get the "team" part of the game, it shouldn't matter if they're Lone Wolves or not.

Honestly, it's things like that that make me less enthused about the game than I original was. Talk about "competitive play" and "leaderboads/stat boards" make me twitchy. Especially when coupled with some of the suggestions to allow "votes" to kick people from a match.

Talk about being double and triple whammed. First you get the stink eye because you have the audacity to be a lone wolf, then someone happens to see you might have a low KD ratio and the murmuring start. Then, they see that you're rank on that particular map isn't so hot and the next thing your know, you're punted back to the lobby.

Unfortunately, there's really nothing PGI can do about it because people will be people and there are some people out there with those huge personal egos you speak of that won't want someone on the team that has the potential to "bring his stats down" . . . .

Luckily, I see enough posters on here where I don't think that will be much of a problem, at least I hope it won't.

Hopefully this made sense . . .

It is quite possibly my favorite thing in all of the internet when a grammar nazi gets called out on bad grammar. And the best part is the internet browser has a built in spell check.

Will some people look down on you for being a lone wolf or a merc? Probbly but those kinds of people arn't worth the time of day, so pay no mind to them. B)

I've done the unit and clan stuff. It's all about getting a well organized team and pounding the snot out of the other team if they are not as well organized or skilled as yours. On the flip side I've done the lone wolf thing with World of Tanks. Guess what.

If your good, you'll get a lot of invites asking you to join them. If you have friends that play create one and enjoy the time with friends. Chances are you will meet plenty of people playing when you play. Some of them will have units they host on teamspeak servers and whatnot.

It's about mech mayhem and fun.

If they discrimiante shoot em. B) I plan to shoot em all if they are a foe on my hud.

I´d like to throw in a quote from Warhammer 40k here: "He who stands with me shall be my Brother!" as the Space Marines say.
