I did some reading about clans, seems they follow a code sort of like a perverse chivalry called Zellbrigen.

There are a few other rules when following Zellbrigen but a few really struck me as it concerns to gameplay in MW:O
  • For instance if you and I are clan-mates and you attack an enemy, that means that you have challenged them, and I am not to engage that enemy in any circumstances even if it means your death. Or I would have dishonored you and myself.
  • When engaging an enemy, I am not to move out of line of sight OR out of my opponents weapons range.
I mean holy **** that's serious buisness. If the clans become released and playable are the players actually suppose to honor Zellbrigen? Say a nooby like me never read any of this and just wanted to play, what would stop them from just going to town and ruining a 'real' clanners experiance?

Does this only apply to duels and not battles?

zellbriggen applies to both duels and battles, though many battles quickly turn into a melee because one or both sides desire such a thing. we will see whether zellbriggen is mandated in MWO or not, though i think at least some of it's tenets are necessary to balance clan technology advantage, and to clear the faction of munchkins who seek only the technology, and not to be a clansman.

Scanlon, no rush in your decision. I've been a member here for a little over a month, and even though played my heart out in MW3, had no clue on the lore. Give yourself time, read up on what you can. (Have started reading some of the books and technical readouts). Threads like this are throughout the forums, and there are many other sites to get information from. I, myself, have not yet decided as to where my loyatlies will lie. But I'm picking up information on a daily basis, there is MUCH to devour.

Thank you to everyone that posted here, it's so great to see a community such as this helping others. You all deserve a Posted Image
