Name: Wilson Vance
Age: 52
Occupation: Battle armor pilot

Hailing from the Hanseatic League, Wilson's parents were traders, and as such spent a large amount of time traveling with their son. So much travel at a young age filled Wilson with a bit of wanderlust and somewhere in his youth he gained a romanticised notion of the military. Deciding he would use it to travel and see the Sphere, he applied himself rigorously to training for what he intended to be a career in the League's armed forces. Excelling at both his military prepschool and academy, Wilson graduated near the top of his class and was eligible for cross-training. Having lived most of his youth aboard ships, he elected to train as battle armored and light infantry, and so see worlds from the ground instead of the sky. He did well enough to qualify for additional special operations training, specialising in demolitions.

Having spent such a long time in training Wilson was eager to go out and work in the field. His first assignment was an intelligence gathering operation undercover on a world inside the Hanseatic League itself, where there had been rumors of a Word of Blake cell that survived Stone's purge of that group. Supposedly a milk-run Wilson's cover was promptly blown by a curious journalist, ruining the operation. The failure was so embarassing the the military quietly forced him into retirement, although he still managed to gain some level of notoriety in the small Periphery state.

Uncomfortable with being recognised as 'the worst spy ever,' Wilson packed his bags and headed out to a small settlement on the edge of Lyran space. Living an uneventful life helping the settlers get by and expand. The HPG blackout drew raiders to the settlement, seeking to extract money and resources from the colony. The only one with any military experience, Wilson grabbed a rifle and waged a guerilla campaign against the bandits, fighting them off once, and then again when they returned with a larger force. In gratitude the settlement banded together to pay him a reward and pick of the loot from the bandit forces. Taking an Imperator assault rifle the leader had used and a reasonable amount of muntions Wilson headed to a more populated world and comissioned a custom suit of battle armor. Planning to capitalise on his training and the newly aquired suit, Wilson has set out to look for mercenary work.

He has an easy-going nature, always trying to look at the brighter side of things. Spending such a long time on the frontier has marked him, his hands are scarred and callused, and although its been such a long time since he was a soldier, Wilson has stayed in just as good shape as when he was training. 6 feet tall and bald, his features are mostly unremarkable, save for a fairly strong jaw, as is his clothing: simple, practical and sturdy, all from his time on the frontier.

And his battle armor is detailed below.

Spoiler

Edit: Gear list since I forgot it :)

Imperator AX-22 Assault Rifle w/ attachments (Operated w/ the armored gloves on the Havoc, used when an MG would be overkill or to save ammunition)
- Variable RDS/4x optic (lever switch)
- Rail-mounted forgrip (bottom barrel rail)
- Rail-mounted flashlight (right barrel rail)
- Mounting system (essentially a series of hooks and magnets that let Wilson 'clip' the rifle onto the back of the Havoc)

7 High-capacity mags (30 rds each, carried in special slots on the Havoc itself)

Amunition crates on the dropshp for the MGs and the rifle.

First-aid kit for use when out of his suit (Tourniquet, 2 gauze packets, pressure bandage, medical tape, needle and string for stitches)

Combat knife (hip sheathed when out of armor, sheath built into the left calf when using the Havoc)

Machine guns work on everything. Besides, he's got armored gloves so he can grab an anti-armor weapon if needed.

Or maybe we spell things weirdly? Like Knight? Or Knife? Or maybe C makes an S AND a K sound when it wants to.
German is actually pretty ordered, only a few weird things, like mädchen being 'das' mädchen, which always made me wince in my classes.

EDIT: You've now got me rethinking my Aerospace role, if I'm gonna almost for sure loose it halfway through, not sure what the point of taking it is. So I gotta rebuild the character to do something else.

the characters are harder but the grammar is actually simpler. I can read some simple chinese, and a bit of japanese. just wish I was fluent in it...

Because shooting people with an elephant gun is funny?
I'm working on a customized Cougar Light Mech, which I've jammed a NARC on, so everyone with missiles can blast my enemies to atoms while I prepare to dance on their grave(s).
