Time to break out the pipes and Scotland the Brave! This is my second favorite next to the BattleMaster. I can't wait to play it.

Killing these will be an especial pleasure because I can already tell that there will be a lot of people declaring that you are "hacking" if you kill them in that chassis.
The mech itself is good looking, but the pilots...such a terrible collection of the worst of humanity. It will be good for the genepool to kill them!
Especially the ones that might have one great great ancestor that's from Scotland (or even none), but they declare themselves pure Scottish from some 1200 year old family that owned a castle till the English stole it or something.

I made the same argument, and quoted the same TRO's, only to have the reply made that it mattered little that the gift was to a single group of units within a single house, that what little production there was halted in the late 3020s, with only custom built copies available until 3057, with canon material stating that it was nigh impossible to find spare parts, etc etc etc. I don't think we're going to convince them otherwise; too many "OMG ITS JUST A GAME DOOD" and "NUH-UH! THE MUL SAYS ITS AVAILABLE" mindsets to change. Best to move on, not worth arguing over and over.
As I very plainly pointed out in my other response to your post, Comstar gave an "average" number of highlander 733's to the DCMS, and a "smaller" number of 732's. This is according to your quoted text, and the TRO I'm holding in my hands.
Since you have seemingly forgotten your quote, I'll repost the important bits for you.
"It was with great surprise, then, when during the War of 3039 the Draconis Combine fielded 733 Highlanders in moderate numbers alongside smaller amounts of the original 732 models."
Moderate does not mean rare, moderate means average, however much you may think otherwise. The ONLY thing mentioned in TRO 3039 to be in limited supply is the 732, which, incidentally the TRO3050U confirms.
"Both the Capellan Confederation and the Lyran Commonwealth use the Highlander in small numbers, as the production lines only churned out less than a dozen a year in either facility."
Limited production does not mean out of production, you were looking at around 20 new mechs per year from those facilities combined for the last 15 years or so, to be fair....it wasn't actually "new" production so much as refitting and sending out old junked highlanders, but materials went in, and shiny usable highlanders come out.
That does it for the TRO 3039 quotes.
Moving on to TRO 3050U.
"Relatively few found their way into the DCMS in the 3030s, almost all of which had been completely stripped of advanced technologies, but a handful remain in service inside the Ghost regiments."
When reading this quote, it's important to remember that it's discussing "specifically" the 732. I should think it would be a derp realization as the 733's have no advanced tech to be stripped out at all. So, the few 732's that did NOT have their advanced tech removed, that were sent to the DCMS, and meet the specifications of the original 732 complete with gauss rifle reside in the ghost regiments. No where in the TRO 3039 or 3050 does it say all Highlanders went to the ghost regiments, only that the best of the best (The fully functional 732's) went to the cream of the crop of their military (derp).
If you insist on interpreting the same TRO's that you hold in your hands differently then the ones I do, that's your perogative, breaking long held ideas on how things "are" once you've made up your mind can be difficult. However, I imagine that you'll continue to interpret that text in the way you believe, and I will do so in the way I believe.
I'd also like to point out that there's no "MUL" whining here, or anything of that sort, just the original canon sources. You are however correct in that there's no point in arguing further, we agree to disagree. Thankfully the current license holder for this medium agrees with myself and the BT community that created Sarna.
For those who asked where the 733C and P came from, they're not "official" variants in the TRO3039, they're canonically "unofficial" as the license to the manufacturer didn't allow for official variants. You can find the official record sheets for them in RS3039U. They are not listed on Sarna, hence the difficulty in realizing they exist.
