Hey folks,

Just wanted to show you a concept drawing of what I thought Duncan Fisher looked like during his Solaris VII Arena announcements:

I saw this on NGNG last night! Very cool and George loved it too!

Nice work

I pictured him more like a chubby football announcer like John Madden. This screams old mech pilot.

Yeah, Duncan definitely has a bit more 'retired old fogey' to him, particularly with the "We-e-ell when *I* used to drive mediums it was a REAL battle!" comments.

Probably a cross between Howard Cosell and Don Cherry, even though the mind shrivels at the prospect...

(PS: your art is awesome, but your guy is too hip-looking to match Duncan's style of comments)

freaking..........

!!!!!

Acttually I think he got it largely right.

Like a faded athlete or rockstar clinging to his glory years, hence the old military (or military style) jacket, and if I had a penny for every 40-50 year old midlife crisis male sporting a goatee trying to look young and cool again....... (when in fact, it usually just looks like the 40-50 year old chick trying to wear their daughters clothes... aka, points out how old and desperate you really are)

He needs more gray hair though. Maybe a Bushwacker bobblehead on his desk.

That I could get in line with. I kinda always thought he sounded pretty vain, but only of medium talent (that's the class I made a name for myself in!), so I was thinking a mix of MArk Schlereth/Colin Cowherd, aka, gymrat blowhard, since his public persona is about the only thing he has in his lonely life.

No firearms in sight? Hes armed in his booth though, perhaps he keeps his guns under the desk.

Totally love the artwork though!

Bishop hit it on the head when he said he is a faded legend clinging onto his glory years. I had imagined Duncan as a crowd favorite and a vastly important figure in the public eye on Solaris VII. He has a very charismatic feel to him which gives him a larger than life persona. He is greying, and I did do grey temples, but it didn't look right. So I figured, since he is on camera constantly, he would have more of that charming game show host who (with some certain products) keeps himself looking young in front of the camera.

Also, I wouldn't have posted this until I sent a preliminary sketch to George Ledoux for an approval. He said this is what he imagined as well.

Maybe he uses "Just for mech pilots" hair coloring.

I read the title in George's 'Duncan' voice, I'm not gonna lie.
Great picture! Saw it on NGNG last night as well, but they cast late UK side and I crashed out halfway through, As Nomad said though, George loved it!

If you take a closer look, there are also some hidden gems in the bg. Some are armor readouts as well as live feeds of weapon readouts. Duncan probably needs that stuff at his disposal for a nice informative play-by-play action report.

Stingr4y did a great job in imagining Duncan, IMHO. I also think the background work is very impressive. But I'm told that I'm going to be getting a "unique" version of this image soon. Can't wait.

Viper69, that is too close to real life. Duncan's supposed to be charming and cool not like ME. :)

I'm George Ledoux and I approve of this message. :)

Heh... and here I always pictured him as a middle-aged Bob Uecker, as seen in Major League.
I saw him as someone prideful but past his glory days, a colour commentator who calls the shots as they happen but stays calm and alert.

That picture is so cool! Duncan Fisher was my favorite part of MW4: Mercs.
