I was looking at one of the videos i think its just the officail teaser video but in the dropping of it it drops the atlas without a capsile...whats with that a mech could not take that much force of landing without a capsile espically the suspension for the legs couldnt take that. Any idea if this is how they are going to do this for the game? Or what they are going to do?

Rewatch the video. It has a yellow jump harness on with descent/landing rockets. On touch down, the rig and harness fall off and the mech is good to go. That part we have yet to see.

And there could be a touch of this involved as well;

Those big canisters on his back are jump boosters. In cannon they have them so non jumping or for high altitude drops so all mechs can make a hot combat drop. I think the drop cocoons are for orbital insertion only.

Thanks Johnson i only thought the yellow harness was just the grappler for the mech to drop it. Ehh i still like the idea of a capsile and it opening when it hits ground but what u said makes more sense.

A proplusion system that gives off that much of a smoke screen would be sweet for a battle field.

I know this is kind of stupid but it would be cool if you actually got to control the landing a little bit - maybe direct where you were going to land and manage the force of the landing. You have to admit it would be funny as hell to see an Atlas pilot uber fail his drop and faceplant right in front of you B)

the yellow scaffold has explosives underneath to provide a soft landing and an extendable rod that embeds into the ground after landing. the mech then unharnesses itself from it and drops down.

@ Conri

Yeah. It's a HALO drop/insertion. The pods/capsules are used in Orbital Drops.

itld be even more funny to use the harness to speed up as you line up with a mech like a jenner, to drop kick an atlas and 1 shot him at the cost of your light, then have both of your reactors critical and take out his entire team.

but since that would be game breaking its best they just leave it alone.
