Really sucks I finally just find this game and want to get in on the founders program but the damn main screen only goes to buy money. They should have ran it until the day that founders add was taken down. I was cheated I say!!

I only made an account yesterday. In the application for Beta the only question I didn't answer was if I was going to buy a founders package.... I did not know what it was referring to. So over to my good friend you tube... and the founders package looked p1mp. Only to find that it is no longer available (sad face)
It is disappointing that founders packages are no longer available while founders are still joining
Founders package should be available until go live. It does not make sense that it has already ended
I vote for it to be brought back so we can get them.

While it kinda sucks to have just missed out on the founders pack (and this is far from the only post like this); people should know that the founders program had already been extended, significantly. Must have been at least 50% longer than originally stated. So on the one hand, you missed by less than you would have had they not kept it going as long as they did. On the other, keeping it open any longer (and it was already starting to feel this way a smidge) would be kind of insulting to those of us who bought founders packages early; when the game was mostly unseen and beta was still under the NDA umbrella, and even with beta access so much was uncertain. Once everybody has had a good look at the game and it is stable enough for open beta, joining in is hardly 'founding' the program.

Now, the devs have already stated there will be future promotions, some of which may (potentially, I have no hard data) include mechs with bonuses similar to those of the founders, or maybe not. Premium account time will still be purchasable; the only things not available will therefore be the SPECIFIC founders mechs, and the founders tag.

So cheer up, don't rage quit (you know who you are), and listen. Open beta is almost here. There are deals waiting in the future, ones that you won't have to spend on prior to trying the game. You know what the game has and how good its going to be. A lot of us spent money on a wing and a prayer.

Don't sweat it, and I'll see you on the battlefield.
And you'll probably kill me :)

Someone says the founders program is no longer available, but you can pay for it? In the mean time is there any one that can help me with beta testing. I just recieved the invite and it appears that I have to pay RL cash for MC and this is a beta test? I have beta tested other games and never paid cash to do so? Especially sice the beta server is not permanent?

I agree, I didn't know the game existed
I got Beta access, then I got a hard on from the launcher telling me about "the founders package"
I got my brother and 2 of my mates over, we spent hours discussing the packages, watching you tube videos
We all decided that we would get the 120 buck founders package
But the link didnt work - I sent an email to support (which I got a response pretty fast, and he was cool)
Old mate, told me that the packages are no longer available, WTF its still in Beta and I cant be a founder, Right there I decided that if I could not be a founder I would not spend a single cent on this game ever
After spending the day at work, It annoyed me more thinking about it, Then I realized that its just going to **** ME OFF every time I want to play that I cant be a founder, So I wont play, ever
If P Games decide to extend the founders program, Can you send me an email or something, because I wont be following up.
For the record it is retarted that I can play beta but not be a founder

You know Beta and Founders Program have nothing in common, Beta allows you the gamer early access to the games content in exchange of testing the game and reporting all bugs and flaws so it's smoothed out by the time it's released. The founders program was a way of the developers getting a cash injection early on which I assume is to further develope the game (people don't work for free). Because you were allowed access to beta, does not mean you should have access to founders. They more then met there goal for the founders program from what I have read. Point being, they had a deadline and you missed it.

Just because you cannot purchase a founders package does not mean you should quit, do you play games only for the special content or do you actually play games because you enjoy them? MWO is a great game, even in it's beta form. I imagine when it's smoothed out more and released down the line it will be a great game. If you want to miss out on that simply because you were denied a founders package then that's your buisness.

As you have stated "open beta is almost here" but it is not here yet and people like Mr Dog (who seemed to be very passionate about not being able to get a founders package) who,is a beta tester, someone who is contributing to the game by filling in bug reports, looking for problems to be addressed, he is a founder, you are unable to deny that, and what is his crime that he did not know the game existed until it was too late, hence thats why he is "rage quitting (also It appears the launcher still has the founders advertisement to purchase, which like the cake, is a lie) I guess he feels insulted that he is allowed to contribute to the beta phase of the game but he is not allowed to be a founder, SWTOR had a founder title well into the game going live, I did not feel that it was unfair that they got my title from a game that I joined on day dot, 3 months later because they were still founders, they supported the game when it was starting.
"Mr Dog" got so excited by the founders package that he got 3 of his homies to come over to his house and they discussed it "for hours" I understand why he is p****ed off
I am sorry that you feel this package should be restricted now as you feel ripped off that other people would have the same title as you. Just an FYI - that is sad

It kinda sucks that people cant buy it anymore.... my guess is alot just got the code out of Pcgamer or other sites like that. They did not know that pack was around. I think the problem was that it ended and the Ad was going to be taken down last week, but the patch was pushed back. I look at it as this, if you go in a store and the sale is over but they leave the sign up. Most of the time the store will give the sale price. The ad has been up to long and those from the end of the sales untill this patch should get it. The other people who have been waiting for months and did not get it... thats to bad you had forever to get it.

Plus it would make the company look better, they are trying to take care of people.

Looking around here on the forum and the MWo, I can't seem to find any info on what exactly you get if you buy into the Founder's Program beyond the very obvious benefits

What do you get with a premium account?

If I buy a Veteran package I'll get 40$ in-game currency - right - and how much is that?

If I go to http://mwomercs.com/buy then you can buy for 30 or 50$ - but not 40, so much do I get for 40???

The same applies to the 80$ in-game currency sum I'd get via the Elite or Legendary founder packages. There is no 80$ cash-buy option at http://mwomercs.com/buy, so I have no clue how much or how little I'll be getting if I buy these packages

So...

A little clarity would be wonderful? Perhaps replace the "40$ value in-game currency" line with the actual amount of 'Mechwarrior Credits' you'll get, like "10.000 Mechwarrior Credits" or something similar?

Just a suggestion

I was reading this guys post again and also DemonicD3's quoted post above in reference to it, I think Mr Dog should get the best founders package for free. I mean look at this dude he is really pi55ed off, "After spending the day at work, It annoyed me more thinking about it, Then I realized that its just going to **** ME OFF every time I want to play that I cant be a founder, So I wont play, ever" this guy was burnt, burnt hard, I want a founders package , yet I didn't get my boys to come over to my house to discuss it for hours, and I sure as **** wont be burning over it while I am at work tomorrow.... this guy takes the cake, he saw the packages advertised on the beta launcher, had his mates come over, reviewed it for hours, lodged a support ticket, only to find out it is over and burns so hard about it.... he wont be able to play the game as that is what he will be thinking about... Phew, im exhausted.. Im going to lodge a support ticket for the "MRDOG" and see if we win (the other thing I noticed is that he did not dump on the support guy even though he was obviously super pi55ed off "I sent an email to support (which I got a response pretty fast, and he was cool)" to me it sounds like this guy wants to play

The Founder Package were an offer who was limited avaiable.
It was shown, that the program will end on the 14th of October. (when i remember correct)

The benefits of this package (when you have spent the money) was:
-early access to the closed beta
-Special Tag in the forum (different in the packages)
for ELITE package special points:
-the 40 ingame currency
-the premium play time (50% more XP and C-bills)
-20000 MCbills (Special currency for buying mechs without C-Bills or premium playtime)

And when you haven't recognized the game and were too late
-> that's bad luck and like it's always in the life:

Who comes too late, will be punished by life.

My information about the closed and open beta is, that all playstats and all progress will be resetted, the used MC points will be refund and resetted.
About the premium time I only have the knowledge, that this time is ticking down when you activate the key.
And I don't have Ffrther informations about that.

Can't agree more.....I missed out on the founders packages by like 2 days because I didn't have the funding. I still play the game and find it quite rewarding to learn from the ground up. Each mech has it's own playstyle and whatever equipment you choose to add or take away from it changes that style so (at least to me) it's like trying to learn a whole different mech. Currently I pilot commando's and a centurion and am still trying to learn them well although I'm getting good at running my commando 2D...the rest is still touch and go at times.

Again repeating Demonic's words.....Don't quit just because you were denied to be a founder. This game is still awesome. There is still some progress yet to be made....but that is what beta testing is all about.

Life isn't always fair mate. You miss things sometimes, like finding out about a 50% off sale at a store where there's stuff you really, really want to buy after it had already ended. It's your loss if you decide not to play this game, and it's even free-to-play, just because you weren't able to get a founder's package.

I feel sympathy for the OP. Buying the package the very last day, I can imagine how infuriating it can be to arrive *slightly too late*.

On the other hand, the Founders package deal has already been extended to the point some had the impression PGI was stretching it too far. It's no good for PGI either to alienate early adopters - the most loyal and dedicated fans - by giving away the rewards they rightfully reaped while taking the risk of betting on a game in an early development stage. So yes, Founders package are (finally!) a thing of the past. And yes, the in-game ad should have been removed accordingly.

~ BUT ~

Could it be possible that good deals and value packs are forever things of the past? If PGI has the smallest bit of common sense, this is unthinkable. As any other company relying on F2P model, they will need to attract newcomers with "candy": first-time packages, special deals and promotions. All variants of a single 'Mech for the price of one, 50% off 'Mech bays for a week, special rebate on MC purchases, we can only speculate at the moment. But they will exist for sure. Just be patient. :D

The only thing is the forum icon: for that, you're probably toast. Not such a big deal IMHO.

I don't want to sound disrespectful.... but - You guys keep saying the same thing
promotion got extended already, beating the dead horse, its not fair to have it continue, yad yad yad, this is irrelevant
when did the promotion end? 2 weeks ago and they still have it advertised on the launcher and in the beta sign up .....
So, there is the problem, the dangling carrot - and peeps are not happy about it when they find out it no longer is available
If someone told me hey, this promotion existed before but you missed out, I would be like boo, that sucks, I wish I could of gotten it
When the company is still advertising it - its not cool - peeps are going to get jacked off
*Patch has been delayed* Seriously if your patch was delayed, how hard it it to release a baby patch to remove the links to the founders packages on the launcher
So... do you think it is ok - to be told - hey baby, you want me, im right here, you can touch me, just lay some bills on me

Oh baby, you are sexy, I might want to pay for you - Im going to look into it, im going to think about it, mmmm

Then Bam - Sorry I was just F##king with you - But please stay .... I do want you

The founders program ran until the 14th October, Open Beta was supposed to start on the 16th, but they had to suspend it temporarily due to various issues. Unfortunately, they did not extend the program, even though Open Beta was delayed.

Ok, you do know that there has been NO patch since the program ended, right? They were going to take that down from the launcher with a patch on the 16th, but pushed back the patch (and open). I guess they felt it was more important to focus on the things they wanted (stability and new items) than make a mini patch just to get the add off the launcher. As it stands, this patch is purportedly HUGE and it has taken the extra week plus 2 more days (so far). Sounds like they had their hands full.

So, yeah, you missed founders and they forgot to take down the banner. Yes that kinda sucks. I've been in situations like that.
But to those legitimately WHINING about this... just stop. There was no shortage of time, no shortage of ads, and you will be able to get other things later on. At this point, you are NOT founding members. Save that money for the next deal and get on with your lives.
