Odd choice of mechs to start a discussion on.

They are jihad era mechs, so we won't seem anytime soon in MWO.

Try playing Mechassault or Mechassault 2. The Ragnarok is THE most powerful mech in Mechassault 1. Combine a unique Lava Cannon along with with Quad Javlin missiles and a pair of Guass Rifles....

Very badass mechs to play as, but likely not meant for the time period according to others....

He is talking about two Mechassault mechs with lavaguns, you are never going to see them in MWO unless the devs had too much alcohol and drugs in their systems.

At any rate, there is a canon Ymir:

Moving to OFF TOPIC since this isn't MWO specific and not really even canon for the time period.

Yeah, according to the vast majority of fans, the MA games are not part of the accepted BT universe. They're arcade shooters that pay very little attention to BT canon. Jihad and Dark Age stuff are controversial as well. They are officially part of the universe but remain unpopular compared to the classic time line.

Lava canons? oy vey

Well, Ymir is canon, but production of it stopped a little over 300 years before this game is set in.... so if they did still exist, they would be rare, and antiques. That being said, "EPH" mechassault... I only enjoyed the battle armor in that game really.... there was something about taking down an assault 'mech in the multi-player, using only the battle armor and hearing the announcer yell, "Giant Killer!", and that only worked because the mortar was OP. That, and it was kind of fun to kick someone out of their 'mech using the 'mech-jack function. I didn't use it much, but when I did, there was much QQ.

Yeah... While I enjoyed the arcady-ness of the MechAssault games, I don't consider them to be really canon. Sorta the bender for FASA, when they had just a little too much to drink :)
