i am sorry, but: the founder´s program was up for a few month... the founders program was ALWAYS annouced as a limited time offer... the founders program has been extended largely (too long if you ask me, but hey, MWO needs the money)... you and many others had all the chances to get one...( that you just got your beta key tells me you are aware of the game for a while now...)

i don´t know if you have been one of those who cryed back in the day "wah i don´t spend money before i have played it!"
to those people, if you are whining now that it´s over... we told you it was good, we told you "just buy it, help the game, fund it, get into beta".. :(

and to all those who just got aware of MWO and are too late for the party: that´s unlucky, but don´t give up hope, there might be other offer´s ...but founder´s is over... done... byebye^^

(if they extend it AGAIN i lose my faith :P )

I can see where some folks were wanting beta access to see how the game was progress/mech handle BEFORE sinking money, but that's what we call RISK vs REWARD.

You risked the Founders program being expired against waiting to get a beta key to see if the game was worth sinking money in.

In this case you gambled and LOST. It's alright you'll still get to play for free in a few weeks when it goes Open Beta.

No, I didn't. I got the key the day after I registered. I knew about the Founders Program the day I launched the game. But if the Founders has ended, why make it stay in the MAIN PAGE in the first place? why not remove it? it's like teasing you for not knowing it the day it came.

Besides, this post is old. I thank the people who answered nicely and to the people who answered with bad manners, just put an ice on your head. It was just a commentary.

Honestly, I can feel sympathy for the OP.

Mind you, not everyone is actively seeking new MMO around. Perhaps he just discovered Mechwarrior Online too late, like I almost did. Plenty of people are yet to discover this game - that's all we can hope for - and none of them will ever be able to purchase a founder package. Mockery, snarling comments and victory dance are certainly not warranted for.

Sure, Piranha Games could just allow founder packages again, but it would make early adopters angry, for good reasons. For a game still in Beta stage, it would not bode well to alienate the diehard Battletech fans allowing this game to exist in the first place. Some already complained founders pack availability lasted too long.

On the other hand, Piranha Games and Mechwarrior Online need to grow and earn more. It would be stupid for the company to turn away potential customers by telling them "hey, welcome, but incredible deals are a thing of the past". Despite all groans and moans from established player, special deals and extra offers for new players are almost guaranteed - and, considering the situation with detachment, some may even look better than now-unavailable founder packages.

We just have to wait to see how they get implemented. Be patient and be faithful!

But for the forum Founder icon it's probably toast. ;)

I oh i agree PGI needs to take down their Founder banner ads, but it's probably so low on their list since they still have much to do to get ready for Open Beta.

Unfair? Hardly. The package has been extended far too many times. Perhaps a new package should be made available to preserve the original spirit of the founder's package.

In terms of achieving some sort of 'legendary' status (one of the incentives to buy into the packages in the first place), the more people that are let into the program, the more it devalues those already in this 'exclusive' program ...

Should be funny for PGI to implement the 4 hour long credits screen with all the names of the founders members just scrolling and scrolling ...

It's been on sale for a really long time. Like really long. It was only going to be like 2 or 3 weeks, starting on June 19. OVER THREE MONTHS LATER it finally closes. NOW you want it? After the extension and the lifting of the NDA? NOW?

Yyou missed the window bud, missed it the first time, and you missed the extended time. It is COMPLETLEY your fault at this point and is in NO WAY unfair to you. You had all the warning you needed.

I see how people are uncapable to read and notice that this post is old. It was just a commentary, I'm not crying about it.

But really, put an ice on your head, there's no need to treat people like **** when they ask for something.

It's funny how you talk like if people who complains now willingly skipped the program until was too late. The truth is that several of us joined when the program was over. So get your life-style suggestion, roll it up and smoke it.

Sure, I'll get use to that: as I don't like to start something gimped compared to other people, if nothing similar will come out in the future, there's the chanche that won't play the game, easy as that.

You are the one who said it was unfair because PGI clearly explaining everything through posts and updates. I'm sorry we the people offend you so deeply "Countess" by telling you how it is.

Do I really have to explain everything again? I'll just copy and paste.

So the main question of mine is "Why make it like you can still buy it when you can't? why make it still in the front page of the game when it's unavailable?" It's like teasing.

And you didn't tell me how it is normally, you said it like you were pissed about my commentary.

Here, let me quote you.

"OVER THREE MONTHS LATER it finally closes. NOW you want it? After the extension and the lifting of the NDA? NOW?"

I'm sorry but if that's the way you talk to people explaining things, you need counseling.

And everyone talks like I knew everything about this game. Like I followed the first day it came out and waited for the last second. Check my registration date. When I registrated the Founders was over.

Is there a way to close this post? It's getting me tired already.
