King Crab, especially after having seen the potential redesign.

We could really use some more chicken walkers up in this Sphere.

Not going my way ... voted for the King Crab, naturally one of the nastiest mech designs around, but the Devastator is tough competition.

What is the Banshee bonus question about (not possible to vote for the first question only) since they're pretty much all the same? I would rather pick the Cerberus or, even better, the Nightstar as a 95 ton mech.

It had to be the Imp from the 100 ton mechs offered in this poll based on its (deserved) heritage :( ...

Voted king crab because the Fd version is completely amazing, and the concept of the KC is better than the others.

Basically, Garth has been making exclusive use of Banshees in TT since he was but a wee toddler, mostly because the boxed set he bought came with only Banshee minis due to packaging mishap. Due to this tragedy, he has developed unnatural love towards the Banshee.

Since not having the Banshee in MWO is utterly unacceptable scenario for him, he is using this poll as a vessel to drive the mech through into the game. He has merely cleverly concealed the poll to seem like it offers 3 'mechs as options, when in reality it offers only one.

OT:

Anyone else wondered why they named a pondering and massive BattleMech that has no stealth-like characteristics "Banshee"? We may never know.

They named it after the sound pilots made when they learned they would be piloting it. :D

With the advent of the BNC-3S and the XL-powered BNC-5S, there is nothing irrational about loving the Banshee. While the Atlas focuses on armor and a short range game, the Banshee, with the firepower of an Awesome at range almost as much firepower as an Atlas up close, focuses on being able to fight at any range.

The 3S is a true assault mech, able to slowly advance on and take a position, and with the speed upgrade of the 5S, the Banshee becomes essentially a heavy mech with more armor and 1.5x to 2x the firepower. If melee attacks make it in, the Banshee just gets even more awesome. If MASC and TSM also make it in and we're allowed to add them to mechs, then the Banshee becomes a 95 ton death machine that comes screaming at you at 85kph.

He understands!!

Think about the CBill figures required to turn a BNC-3E into a BNC-3S. Sell the oversized fusion engine to a small seaside tourist town for their very own permanent power plant, turn that cash into some rather cheap weapons upgrades and a smaller engine. Moves 12kph slower, just like an Atlas now, yet mounts insane weaps. You will possibly even PROFIT on the deal! Cheap assault mech, massive weapons array, and profit...that is why we Lyrans are the Ferengi of the universe.

Banshee BNC-3E weapons:
1. particle cannon
2. 50mm autocannon
3. small laser

Ugh. Weak. But what's this?

Banshee BNC-3S weapons:
1. particle cannon
2. particle cannon
3. medium laser
4. medium laser
5. medium laser
6. medium laser
7. small laser
8. 6-pack short range missile launcher
9. 75mm autocannon

'nuff said.

Devastator is just ridiculously overpowered
2 Gauss rifles + 2 PPC + 4 Medium laser wooooaaahh wwooohhuhhh 14 double heat sinks 18,5 tons of armor oww yea
If it wins I would nominate it should be payed or hard to optain reward for pilots. Its just tooo freakly super mech killer.

I voted for Jango Fett

The banshee? 1 ppc, ac5, and one small laser on a 95t chassis? Really? REALLY? That build is for a 45t chassis. Craptacular. Someone does not know the difference between "bonus" and "taxing". Obvious troll.

This is about the BNC-3E though. It's the only variant of Banshee Garth would allow anyway, so don't go expecting for those retconned softie Banshees.

Its already been confirmed that we'll be getting alternate variants of mechs: the HBK-4P, which carries 6xML+heat sinks in place of the AC20, was shown in the GDC screenshots. Also, one of the developers (don't remember which one, but he's the guy responsible for selecting mechs based on lore/appropriateness) in his interview stated that his favorite mech of all time was the BNC-3S (not 3E).

I would say that it is not only reasonable that we would get the BNC-3S. I'd say that it was very likely.
