I do second this statement, but I would like to point out that this may not be a bad thing. It could allow for ranked solo matchmaking so pilots who want to face others of their rank could do so. It may also alleviate some of the complaints of new people getting screwed over by experienced pilots. That way new people could play together and move up as they learn.

Those are all functions of having an ELO based matchmaking system, which is planned (Matchmaker Phase 3), rather than having everyone's n00b/l33t score available for public consumption.

why is it important for you to look up other player stats? will you jump ship after you have joined game?

Nobody except for GMs and the players themselves need to see their stats, though I'll admit that in some circumstances, like where you want to shut some fool's mouth, they can be handy to display.

Nay to you sir. I print out my BF3 stats and frame them on my desk at work

If I did that, I would shoot myself. Yes, they are that bad. :D

thanks for that. pretty poor i have to type in the url to get them as there's no link tab/button on the profile page. needless to say for every 5 of my deaths there's one kill. YAY the joys of pugging!

Just click profile and then stats? :)

This being said, K/D doesn't tell you much. I'd like to see an assist to kills ratio as well, maybe even split up in mech variants.
It also doesn't give you successful spots or damage done to damage received ratio, all interesting stats to look at if you want to get better.

I have no idea what statwankers and CoDfappers are so obsessed with the KDR stats in the first place. The minute this launches, they all get wiped and everyone gets a clean slate. This is why I would routinely grab a trial mech, and charge, peen first into a cluster of enemies for easy cbill grinding.

I would like to be able to view other players stats, but first they would have to actually be useful. The stats as they are now, are pretty much useless.

very true.... now the profile page all it has once i've clicked profile is a bunch of white boxes under the header profile which tell me my name's email address etc. the rest of the page is completely blank no stats button.

now there's a good point mc buyers will undoubtly have better stats cause they stayed away from the trial deathtraps... they must account for half my deaths as i only have 3 awesome's in my own mechbay.

nothing is getting wiped. everything we have here is permanent including the stats. every other shooter game allows you to see other people's stats, why shouldn't MWO? the devs are already planning to put stats open to public view. i would love to have "WoT's xvm mod" for MWO so i can check to see how my team will fare against the enemy team.

i think that's the only part of the stats which has a vague chance of being usefull, although the players themselves with high stats might be trying a new build or something and could flunk on that one occasion. stats really don't define skills and aweareness but define been apart of a good team over bad ones, better builds over poor trials that never stood a chance and to easy op weapons, equipment with game bug exploitation against people with high pings and lag who have a hard enough time getting ppc's to hit reg. the stats mean nothing as far as a pilots skills are concenred when all that stuffs been happening.

I myself enjoy following my own stats, they give me another goal that adds to MMO. Having a top ten or top five list would be great, this would keep those lower on stats unknown and give those that thrive on stats a heads up on how high the bar is. With so many different style of pilots out there, it would be sad for you to shut out one for the other when a compromise could be made.

Well before they implememnt anything they'll need to reset them. I know for a fact mine are way off.

When they reset them after coming out of closed beta something glitched.

I typically play a few hours in the evening on week nights and some on the weekends. That first week after I played 120 matches. I went to check my stats to see how well I had improved from closed beta and my stats were 27 kills and 672 deaths. I'm thinking damm I've gotten worse...then I was like wait, thats multiple deaths a match. Now if I go look at my stats and subtract those beginning numbers I get a figure more like I was figuring, especially since I actually started keeping track myself.

I on the other hand would not want a reset, I have put alot of time in and my stats reflect that. I have come along way since closed beta and still learning more each day. I really enjoy when a new patch comes out with new mechs or with weapon alterations, then my stats suffer untill i learn to turn these changes to my advantage.

The moment we get public stats is the moment this forum gets filled up with this phrase:

"says the guy with a 1/10 K/D ratio. LERN TU PLAY NUB!"

MWO is better than that. If your ***** is so small that you have to compensate with stats from a video game, MWO isn't for you. Piloting mechs is only for REAL men!

KDR is such a shallow stat for a game like this. Damage done, accuracy, uptime are just a few that I think paint a much better picture of a players skill.

I hate those games where the guy with 4 kills is bragging and at the end of the match he did 140 damage. Just last week I was the last alive in conquest in my Raven and this guy was like "I killed 4 myself why can't you noobs do anything." So I said kills don't = damage done, to which he said wait till end of match and proceeded to call me a lot of names.

Well my Raven did twice the damage he did and yet I had no kills (not that I cared) but it is a good example of people convinced last hitting something makes them good.

I told myself to just stop caring about it and play how I play.

S!

Keep C-bills and MC hidden from public, otherwise I do not care. If someone gets a ***** and jizzez pants for stats then by all means. I would rather have stats for Mechs driven, accuracy, damage, assists etc. so could see which Mech is best for me. Let's see how PGI will implement it. But for sure a lot of circle flapping of ePeens will commence :-)

If you haven't noticed yet...these terms " LERN TU PLAY NUB!" Plus many many others that are ten times worst are already being said, more so on the field with out any stat shown..I would say Carniv If your ***** is so small that you cant see both sides of this you may be very likely to be the first to openly belittle someone of there stats on here by your statement.
