I've looked at the OTHER mechwarrior game that is coming out this year, and I have to say that I actually like their artwork for what a Grasshopper should look like.

Makes me hopeful on what Flying Debris can do with the design, but I think there is nothing wrong with this Grasshopper as it is.

Maybe we can get the two companies to share artists?

Not a fan of the MW:T 'Mech designs. I mean, is it really necessary to make a 70 ton 'Mech look as wide as an Atlas?

Yeah the hunchback design is like ***? It would of been nice if they had hired Alex and kept a more Classic Battletech look. It kinda stinks of 'Dark Age' art direction to me. The idea of this game is cool though, bringing some fidelity to an electronic version of Tabletop Battletech. I like their idea of selling 'packs' kinda like with trading card games. I'm not keen on the stupid 'action' cut scene at the end of each round though, it seems like it will take forever to get through a game. I'd rather they just fired during the firing phase.

That's what they reminded me of! All of the MW:T 'Mechs look like they've been re-designed by Michael Bay.

FD´s touch, removal of the grasshopper head and you have got one amazing mech to play with.

I like about half of the designs the Grasshopper and Stalker are two of the best. However, the Hunchback and some of the other are really bad.
The good ones just need the shine taken off them a bit.

They're definitely transformery (new version, not the old) aren't they? almost like there's a robot drawing school all these artists are graduating from.

Very utilitarian, very safe designs with no thrills/frills, they're really shooting for a younger crowd (which is ok I guess).

Hopefully once it starts up and they see the demand for some different designs, they take some chances.

The Bounty Hunter begs PGI Design Team not to make the Grasshopper like that. If they make a kick-booty Grasshopper, NOT like the one above, The Bounty Hunter will make great efforts not to talk in the 3rd person........

Of all the screen shots I have seen the only one that I don't like is the one where the Missiles are bouncing (angling ugly) off the (rather low) ceiling. I hope they would fix that before Launch.

They have to have their own look. Can't all be the same as everyone else. Though the Awesomes shoulder pads maybe a tad large.

I agree with Hayden, I do not like these models. Game looks amusing and all, especially since its something that can be played over time. If I'm at work, or whatever.. which will sate me a bit for MWO games.

I belive it's going to be a slower paced game. Example:
Move 'Mechs
Got to work
"Your turn"
Shoot 'Mechs
Work some
"End Phase"
Watch video
"You won iniative"
Work some more
"Your turn"
Move
etc., etc.

I don't even care what it looks like, as long as I get one. Grasshopper's a fav.

ugh.. just b/c it's called a grasshopper, it doesn't mean that they had to give it a bug head.. or color it green. plus the torso is way too wide/large in proportion to everything else...

Here's an article about the Grasshopper w/some images of the BT design.

It seems to me the MW:T Grasshopper (and MW:T as a whole) tends more towards the 'anime space robot' style than the 'giant armored war machine' style.
