I really hope you guys don't think this game is going to be based off the cannon exactly right?

They have kept to it so far, so why not?

Anyway, there are still hundreds of mechs and variants that can be implemented during the current period. So we won't be running out of designs any time soon to be forced to jump ahead.

What ever it is, it won't be in the game until Christmas 2013.

I'd rather see battlemechs 10-17 implemented in game.

And finally, last assault. Now we have Atlas (pretty well balanced for all distances), Awesome (mostly long-range with PPC and LRMS), Stalker (mostly long range too), and Highlander (well-mixed), so I guess we could use something for close-range like ...

Annihilator!

I don't care about it's rareness, faction availability etc. At this time the Raven is capellan only, but it's alredy in the game. The Highlander is no longer produced and very rare at this time, but it is announced. Mercs will be a faction in MWO, so we should see some "merc mechs", too.

No idea in which weight class Mech Nr.18 will be. Medium, heavy? I've already said it in "Odanan's" thread. Vindicator or Dervish / Kintaro are nice mechs to fill the lack of 45 and 55 ton mechs. Same with Black Knight or Orion in the 75 ton class.

FYI, House Davion is the only house outside House Liao recognized Raven. As for Merc mech, Wolfhound is one of them. Though the Merc Corps are hardly consider as a faction, but more of a "subsidiary" ones.

I wish it was Crab/Orion/King Crab, but not gonna happen unfortunately

View PostLima Zulu, on 24 October 2012 - 05:48 AM, said:

Why not, actually? They are not unseens, produced since Star League era and came back with Helm memory core, just as Highlander did. Also they all have some fresh variants at 3050.

Sorry, wasn't totally clear, so:

- Crab is NOT readily available, if at all, at the moment (we're still in 10/2049)

"Designed during the last days of the Star League, the Crab proved to be a superior unit, likely to become the standard medium 'Mech of the SLDF, were it not for the events leading to the downfall of the Star League. First built in 2719, fewer than 1,000 were built before the Succession Wars destroyed the technological know-how to build and maintain these 'Mechs. Following the recovery of the Helm Memory Core, Cosara Weaponries was able to restart production in 3050"

- Orion is possible/very likely

- King Crab was first mentioned in the "Wolf Pack" novel (by Robert N. Charrette) in the story time of ~3054. AFAIK, it was "available" in ComStar or Wolfs Dragoons only

It better be the Blackjack or Dervish because House Davion is really getting screwed.

Seriously the only signature Federated Suns mech is the not yet in game Jagermech.

The Highlander was premature, I guarantee you there are far more Victors in existence than Highlanders.

Lyrans are getting screwed also but not as badly since their mech stable is somewhat generic pre-3050.

I'm curious why so many peoplel are so fond of Dervish? Sort of Trebuchet+5 tons for me

It's the explodey paddle-hands, puffed up chest, and bald head that do it for me; just too cute for words!

Seriously, its got good speed and jumpjets. Lots of potential for modification with all those missile hardpoints.

We were throwing everything at them in 4th SW and they preserved afew Raven 1X.

They couldn't understand them, so they tuned them all into 2X without everything making Raven useful.
We also had to trade a few to Marik and Kurita, but at an unspecified date, so they still may be exclusive.

I'm not sure if it would be reading too much into this ISN blurb, but it seems likely that the Blackjack is coming at some point (Yay!)

http://mwomercs.com/...-isn-news-flash

It also has some sweet variants (from sarna):
  • BJ-1DB - The 1DB Blackjack is a variant intended to increase the 'Mech's lethality. The two autocannons have been replaced with two Large Lasers and several heat sinks have been added to the design to handle the extra heat load. BV (1.0) = 881[3], BV (2.0) = 1,015[5]
  • BJ-1DC - The 1DC Blackjack sacrifices the 'Mech's jumping ability in order to add two Small Lasers and additional heat sinks to deal with the additional heat load. BV (1.0) = 718[3], BV (2.0) = 917[6]
  • BJ-2 - The BJ-2 upgrade of the Blackjack upgrades the 'Mech with two Diverse Optics Sunbeam ER Large Lasers and four Hovertec Streak SRM-2 launchers. This variant also upgrades the heat sinks to double strength versions. [note, the BJ-2 was errata'd to use double heat sinks by FASA Corporation after its release] BV (1.0) = 858[3], BV (2.0) = 1,148[7]
The BJ-2 with four streaks could be a nasty mech for 45 tons (unless streaks get nerfed too much), and the BJ-3 would make a nice all energy variant with it's double heatsinks. It looks like the hardpoints on the BJ-3 and BJ-1DB/DC would probably be the same. I would guess something like this:

BJ-1: 2 ballistics (arms) and 4 energy (torso)
BJ-2: 2 energy (arms) and 4 missile (torso)
BJ-3: 6 energy

To me, that looks like a good variety of variants for one chassis.

House Davion captured so many Ravens in tbhe 4th Suc War that civilian observers actually thought it was a new Davion mech. The EW equioment got stripped for a large laser and armor because it dint work half as well as a real beagle or ecm.

How about the Enforcer for the medium? Supposed to be one of House Davion's most common medium mechs.

Though the devs would introduce otherwise. I doubt that the recent ISN announced is a concrete evidence that they would introduce Blackjack.

Either way, the next one after Highlander might be a Capellan-associated mech as what Odanan mentioned.

Not to mentioned they even took our Cataphracts too from Tikonov.

Let me complete your list. ;)

BJ-1: 2 ballistics (arms) and 4 energy (torso), jump
BJ-1DC: 2 ballistics (arms) and 6 energy (torso), no jump
BJ-2: 2 energy (arms) and 4 missile (torso), jump
BJ-1DB / BJ-3: 6 energy, jump

the BJ-1, BJ-1DC and BJ-1DB are 3025, so we can have 3 variants right away. The BJ-2 and BJ-3 are 3050.
Not to mention there is an Omni Blackjack and many other variants in 3058/3060.

Meet the next medium:
