AHHH I cannot unsee it now.

After listening to the live NGNG taping last night, I see CameraManBot 3000 when I look at the AWESOME.

Someone mentioned that it looked like a Boom mic sitting on the top of the head. And it looks like it has a camera near the cockpit, and in the torso are lights.

Now all I can think of is a robot used by reporters on scene. It's an all in one Camera Man.

LOL.. I think the "Mic" is the replacement for the Radar dish.. and the "Camera" is the small laser to deal with pesky infantry.

That said, now that you mention it, does look like a Big Bad@ss reporter

This mech actually I think looks great, as it truly depicts the grittiness of the actual mech. Also, it has what appears to be a closed fist, very nice. Personally I like this design. Also great story.

The torso PPC's, stripes, and the waist combined look like a face giving me a blank look of judgement. I think the relative size of this mech on the battlefield will make it look much more intimidating. Thinks have a habit of looking more menacing when you are looking up at them.

For you Liaoists out there who think you ain't getting any love, might I remind you that House Liao loves them some Catapults.

Eitherway, the Awesome is it's namesake. I like the mention of the steam in the cockpit and sweating profusly before firing the PPCs in volleys rather than alpha striking.

The Davionista's don't have a mech that is considered Iconic either IMO. While the Centurion is definately used by them the most (it's the most common mech in the AFFS, but it's not exclusive to them by any means).

I would LOVE for the Cataphract or Caesar to make it into the game. Both pretty exclusive to their nations, both 70 ton mechs.

I'm a bit torn with the Awesome, I love the mech, and have alway's loved the mech, but it's gonna be so popular that I don't want to follow the inevitable trend...but I DO want it (if that makes any sense).

The Awesome is the original optimised Assault mech, so it get's a free pass from me.

Regardless I'm betting on 70-75 tonner next.

Wow that is just one fantastic re-interpretation of the Awesome. Probably my favorite so far in fact. You can just "see" the big slabs of armor plating, and the Left Arm looks viable and functional. I love it.
