So basically everyone's going to take everything out of it and all the armor off it then.

As to the AWS-8Q's ability to alpha 3 consecutive times, that would leave it only at 6 heat (assuming no movement). The thing has *28* heat sinks. Kinda makes the whole "Her cockpit flushed with heat after the first salvo" thing kinda seem more liberally used artistic license.

heat sinks only remove heat, they do NOT prevent it

Depends on the rule set, in table top the heat sinks are magic and and can remove heat in real time.

I love the Awesome and am extremely glad it's in - it's been our absolute top wishlist 'mech for the Blazing Aces. We all have loved this 'mech in every incarnation (barring the gimped MW4 version) of the game it's been in - it's just the perfect IS assault.

One thing we've all been a bit worried about from the art is the leg length. It's a great design in the upper body, but the legs look a little.. stubby. When converting it into a model, if I have any criticism (I've really liked all the designs thus far, my favorite being the Catapult remake) it's that.. they really feel like they should be a tad bit longer. That said, I really dig how they made the shoulder armor look like it's actually protective rather than being giant arm mounted racing fins. That's a good change.

Still, I'm extremely happy to get the Awesome into the game and can now rest easy that two of our favorite 'mechs (the other being the Jenner) are confirmed!

TT doesn't operate in real time. 1 heat sink removes 1 heat every 10s.

I think the Awesome looks great! :)

----------

As far as interesting (era-appropriate?) Capellan BattleMechs that could, perhaps, be seen? :)
FLE-17 Flea (20 tons) -> exclusive to the Wolf's Dragoons until the blueprints were stolen by the Maskirovka
FRB-2E Firebee (35 tons) -> the original Capellan BattleMech! still canonically exists, but not currently in production...
RVN-3L Raven (35 tons)
VND-1AA, VND-1R, VND-3L Vindicator (45 tons)
CRS-3M Cronus (55 tons)
CTF-1X, CTF-2X, CTF-3D, CTF-3L Cataphract (70 tons)

Also, for some (era-appropriate?) FedSuns 'Mechs! ^_^
VLK-QA, VLK-QF, VLK-QD Valkyrie (30 tons)
BJ-1, BJ-2, BJ-3 Blackjack (45 tons)
HTC-3F, HTC-5S Hatchetman (45 tons)
ENF-4R Enforcer (50 tons)
DV-6M Dervish (55 tons)
AXM-1N, AXM-2N Axman (65 tons)
JM6-A, JM6-DD, JM6-S JagerMech (65 tons)
BKX-7K Battleaxe (70 tons)
CES-3R Caesar (70 tons)
HMH-3D Hammerhands (75 tons)
DVS-1D, DVS-2 Devastator (100 tons)

And, of course, the greatest of them all... the Marauder! :P

I was under the impression the Awesome, along with the Atlas, Jenner and Hunchback are pretty much seen in all house armies at that point in time. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Dont blast the Alpha strike timing, an Atlas doesnt backpedal very fast, a 10 second delay is very possible from a cruise forward to full revers back in an Atlas, and who knows how many meters he had to traverse to make it back into cover.

Also we dont know that each strike was a full volley of the PPCs in the end of the story she is poping off rounds one at a time.

She would be running hot, but to take down a single Atlas when you know the enemy is a distance away, it is what i would do. take the heat and risk the shutdown to save the armor for the main conflict.

(the better question is what ***** in the Atlas pushes ahead alone? and tries to backpedal from fire. No doubt some self entitled son of a nobleman)

I love me some Awesome, but I'm not too big on this design, both in comparison to the others and comparison to some other Awesome renditions - especially in MW4. That was great. This is a little funky. :\

It has noticable artistic differences, but... it looks the same. So very recognizable this time.

Neat.

Very faithful to the original even though it aesthetically resembles his newer designs. The smaller amount of segments helps give it a solid look, which is appropriate for an Assault.

Me likey. So that brings me to liking the majority of the designs now.

2 Lights, 2 Mediums, 2 Heavies, 2 Assaults. The first and last was an assault. What will the ninth one be?
